Genuine Vintage late 1800's German Paper Punch Celluloid"Our Lady Of Perpetual Help" Framed Needlepoint/embroidery SAMPLER Diorama SHRINE. This German diorama picture and frame is a shrine to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Consists of a paper punch diorama with a center figure of Mary and infant Jesus with two angels. These figures are raised 1/2 inch above the background- in a 3-D effect- and are made of pressed celluloid and hand painted in blue and gold tones. The paper mesh background is punched through with needlepoint/embroidery style lettering. ALL IN GERMAN, Unsere liebe Frau" AND at the bottom it reads"VON DER IMMERMAHRENDEN HULFE" and ORA PRONOBIS.Beneath the celluloid portraits are dried flowers and ferns glued to the background. All of this detail work appears to be hand layered. The paper punch portrait ... moreis framed in a gesso frame under glass about 18" tall x 14" wide x 1" deep. It is made from hard wood which been cut to the frame size and then is overlaid with plaster glue compound. Called gesso. The frame is about 1-1/2 inches wider than the picture and there is a gold tone border around the glass. Rear of frame has two threaded eyelets on each side which hold a twisted hanger wire. There is an old cardboard backing on the frame held in with fine nails and a label from the original seller in Allegheny, Pa(annexed to Pittsburgh in 1907) plus the remains of some paper backing. Condition: Excellent. Picture is in excellent condition with no deterioration except some marking where the frame nails hold it into place. Colors are clean and the needlework and lettering is nearly perfect. There a a few small marks on the paper backing from age. please see closeup pictures below. Overall in good condition. ORIGINAL ANTIQUE RELIGIOUS PAPER PUNCH SAMPLER, PRAISE THE LORD" in its ORIGINAL ANTIQUE ADIRONDACK FRAME. This Beautiful Antique Sampler is in Good Condition for its age! There is some minor thread loss. As shown in the photographs above. It is done in shades of Burgundy. Red, Pink, Green and Silvery White. The Antique Adirondack Frame is Original to the Sampler. The Frame is Solid and the Four Carved Wood Corner Leaves are all in tact, although the two top leaves are slightly different from the two bottom leaves. The frame includes the original wavy glass. Wire hanger and original wood backing. The frame measures 11 x 22 1/2 inches. The sampler alone measures 6 1/2 x 18 inches. If you're interested. Please don't hesitate to make an offer!

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN PAPER PUNCH SAMPLER"OLD OAKEN BUCKET" in its original frame This sampler is in fair to poor condition with staining. Darkening, and rips to the punch paper. Its rustic appearance, however, is very charming. Paper punch samplers were one the most popular craft items of the Victorian age These samplers included many different mottoes of the time period and became very popular to create by the 1870's. Most were stitched during the 1870's and 1880's. The samplers were sometimes called the"poor woman's samplers" because they were inexpensive to create. Most mottoes were framed with a wooden backing board. The oils leaching out of the wood into the paper have left marks that appear to be water stains. This sampler does appear to have water spots. The punch paper has also browned with age. The ... moresampler alone measures approx. 7 1/2" x 20" The motto was done in many shades of red wool thread. Leaves. Grass, and decor are done in green. All threads look intact. I counted 17 punch holes per inch paper. Framed measurement 9 1/2" x 22 1/2" It is black with a thin stripe of gold accent on the inside. There are many chips on the frame consistent with age. The frame includes the original glass. Wire hanger and original wood backing. Please refer to pictures for better visual description. This is a beautiful Antique Cross Bar frame with a wonderful paper punch cross stitch"GOD BLESS OUR HOME" Sampler. The frame is 16 3/8" x 14 3/4" and is 1" deep. The Cross Stitch was done in 1932 by my Aunt. The frame was made in 1895 and has been in my family ever since. The shipping charge includes postage. Insurance, tracking and packaging.
