The Art Nouveau style emphasized natural shapes of depicted subjects by focusing on their curving structures and outlines. Softly-modeled and sculptural. We are pleased to offer this wonderful. Antique, Victorian, Art Nouveau era, ceiling tin. This beautiful tin features a rare design. The focal point is a nude nymph surrounded by grape clusters, leaves and vines. The grape vines provide for a semi sheathed dress. This gorgeous tile came from an old hotel in Salisbury, Missouri, which is north of St. Louis. The hotel was constructed in the 1880s and was one of the first businesses in the town. The ceiling tin is in very good condtion. It has been mounted on wood as a wall plaque. It has been protected from the elements and has very little rust. The old paint and antique varnish are still very nice and mostly intact. The color is a dark oatmeal or brownish tan. The relief on the tin is very deep and there is a lot of texture. The Rubber Mold First the artist creates an original sculpture out of any number of media. Including stone, wax, clay, wood and pottery. This image is coated with a silicone rubber molding material that makes two rubber mold halves(each rubber mold has a front and a back piece) A fiberglass outer shell is added to the back of each mold so it retains its shape and rigidity during subsequent uses. These molds are the only components that are ever re-used in the casting process. All other components are re-created for each casting. The Wax Positive Once the molds are done. The lamp has no markings that I see. No shade is provided. It has no chips or cracks but does have crazing which is tipical for its age. The brass base is rusty and will need some attention. It was made by the Royal Haeger company in a blue drip glaze and stands 8 1/4" tall. The girl kneels demurely with hands raised to both sides of the vase which rests between her knees. No mark, but this can be found in the Haeger reference book and likely only originally had a sticker which has disapeared. No chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. This vintage chalkware carnival prize statue/bookend of a nude wood nymph with a deer is in good condition for its age. It has a few small nicks(especially one knee) as shown in the photos but do not really detract from the statue as a whole. The paint looks good for the most part. A little fading on one side of the face and body and a few light scratches here and there. The statue/bookend is 7" tall and 5" wide. The photos show the condition well so have a good look.

I have searched all over the internet for this form manufactured by Royal Dux sometime between the late 1800's and very early 1900's and for sure pre 1919 and have been unable to locate one like it. The pictures should show every detail. She is a fantastic early example the detail around her partially naked body is incredible. The fabric is absolutely flowing about her. The shell belts around her waist and legs are super detailed, and the sea foam like hair just flows around her petite and perfectly beautiful face with the finest of details. Her bare legs hang off of the rock atop which she is sitting and are also perfect with phenomenal realistic smooth legs and feet and toes. Around her is the stormy sea with lots of foam and ... morewhat appear to be barnacles as well as some flowers growing up around her.somewhat pale green vinelike foliage which turn into beautiful pink flowers and pink flower buds. These flowers add a little bit more of the pastel color which makes this statue such a pleasing combination on the almost bisque like Royal Dux figural centerpiece.
