I found a stamp in the back of the wood that reads: Laguna Studio Gallery Picture framing Prints June 3 1955 1890 So. Coast Blvd. Laguna Beach. California The frame is heavy wood. And looks like thinly applied gesso and paint. The color of the frame is a goldish/beige color, and has some dark wood( brown) showing in areas. The Insert for your art is 20 x 24 ins.The entire frame measures 28 1/2 x 32 1/2 ins. The inner rabbet is about 1/2 ins. approx. It has a inner linen matting. And combed or ribbed design.There are a few spots, mostly corners, like shown above, where there is some damage/chipping of the gesso/paint overlay. It is still very solid and sturdy. And has gold inner and outer paint and beige-washed paint, inside the middle molding. The frame appears to be made of pine, it is in fair/good vintage condition with some common scrapes/wear to the finish from age. The insert for this for your art is 18 x 24 ins. The entire frame measures 21 3/4 x 27 1/2 ins.the rabbet is about 1/4 in. This originally had a 1940s portrait that I have sold, so I would date it to the 1940s, to very early 1950s time period. This is a vintage wormy chestnut mid century modern painting frame in the Heydenryk style. It definitely looks like a frame The House of Heydenryk would have made. But it doesn't have a label. It probably dates 1940s or 1950s. Overall. It measures 21 1/2 inches x 25 1/2 inches(54.6 cm x 64.8 cm) It has a back opening size of 16 1/8 inches x 20 1/8 inches(41 cm x 51.1 cm) The molding width measures a touch under 3 inches(7.6 cm) It has a textured. Combed surface. The profile is a great-looking reverse cove. The wood under the linen-covered liner is not wormy chestnut. But a different type of wood. The interior section is painted a reddish/goldish/grayish color. Giving it a wonderful look. The back has writing which says#D3331. I believe this was a model number. It also says#5 linen a few times. There is light chipping around the outer ... moreedges(please see photos) The liner has two small stains. Each with about a 3/4 inch diameter(3.2 cm) along the bottom middle section of the frame. There are a few very small marks on it also, but nothing significant. There is no glass. Mid Century Modern Picture Frame Black & Brass Easel Desk Top 50s Made in Korea
This frame has been in my family since the 50s or longer. Until recently. It held a 1940s photo. There is an original paper tag on the back stating that it was made in Korea. The tag also has the number 93857 on it. The inside measurement, where the glass meets the brass ribbing, is 6-3/4 tall x 4-3/4 wide. The outer measurements are 8-3/8 x 6-3/4. The back is covered with a velvet-like material and it goes up around the sides. I believe the flat black on top is metal. It is in a thin layer and you can see this in the second last photo Excellent condition with no dents or loss to the finish. The small white flecks that you see on lower left of the frame are remnants from a paper towel I used to clean it. Thanks for stopping by!

MASSIVE HEYDENRYK FRAME 30x36 Inches Mid-Century Modern
Offered for sale is a large frame that is of the 1950s to 1960s vintage. I bought it at a Lambertville NJ flee market in early 2000s. The frame looks and feels and bears similar markings as a House of Heydenryk frame. There is no label on the back. The frame will accommodate a 30"x36" painting. Rabbet: 30 1/4 x 36 1/4 inches Frame Molding width: 3 1/4 inch Liner Width: 1 1/4 inch Total width: 4.5 inches The number 5319 is written on the back of the molding repeatedly. I assume this is a molding/frame type designation. The wood looks like wormy chestnut. There are a few knots in the wood that I photographed. The liner needs to be white washed. Here is a vintage picture frame. Circa early 1950s, made of a lightweight wood with a faux linen look to the inner molding piece. It also has beaded edging. The frame is a beige color, probably was off-white originally and through time has turned a darker beige. It is in fair vintage condition with a ding to the inner faux linen molding, some minor edge chips, still sturdy. The entire frame measures 21 x 24 1/2 ins. while the insert rabbet size is 16 x 19 1/2 ins.It has some original pencil notations on the back saying it was#60 and was $10.80 back then the initials LHS. This is a great looking vintage Art Deco or Mid Century Modern geometric frame. The dimensional aspect of this frame gives it a wonderful design. It dates circa 1930s or 1940s. Overall it measures 19 1/2 inches x 24 1/2 inches(49.5 cm x 62.2 cm) The back opening size is 17 1/8 inches x 22 1/8 inches(43.5 cm x 56.2 cm) The molding measures 1 1/2 inches wide(3.8 cm) Though the dimensions are unusual. This frame can easily be cut down by a willing frame store. The frame has crackling throughout the entire finish. Personally. I think this is what makes it look so good. It has a number of small nicks and scratches to it. Most notably a 1/4 inch(63 cm) indentation on the top piece of molding towards the left side and a chip in the center of the bottom molding about the same size(please see photos) However, these marks all tend to blend in with ... morethe overall look of the frame. Then keep reading this has a wire brushed wood frame with pie crust like embossing and an inner slip band of green velvet and inner molding of gold leaf, yes i can see it real gold leaf. Such a great bohemian mid century feel! It is a large frame measuring 31 3/4 by 28 inches overall. The frame is 4 1/2 inches wide. It was made in the 1960's in Taiwan and it is groovy! Vintage Mid Century Modern Portrait Frame 27 1/2 X 32 1/2 Opening
This is a beautiful vintage Mid Century Modern painted portrait frame. It dates circa 1930s or 1940s. Overall. It measures 36 inches x 41 inches(91.5 cm x 104.2 cm) The back opening size is 27 1/2 inches x 32 1/2 inches(70 cm x 82.6 cm) The molding measures 4 1/2 inches wide(11.4 cm) I'm convinced the paint on this is all original. It has a wonderful molding shape. With a great applied composition decoration. The finish is a combination of a silvery/gold color with a red base that looks great where it shows through. There is also a light whitewash over most of the frame. There are numerous areas where the paint has chipped off. Most notably on the outer front strip of the molding. But this is what makes this frame look so good. It all just blends in so well together. There is no glass. This frame can fall into many different categories. ... moreI can see it anywhere from an Italian Villa setting to a French château. Shabby chic also comes to mind. VINTAGE MID CENTURY MODERN WOOD WIDE MOLDING REVERSE FRAME 16 X 20 GOLD BROWN

I am sure there is probably a"frame industry" word for this but i don't happen to know it. I know you do not see these frames as often, and i can guess that they are harder to make and have the joints or mitered corners look right, since they are prominently displayed. Anyway the frame molding is 3 1/4 inches wide and 2 inches deep, the outer band is gold the a dark brown band and then gold, then the linen slip band which is in nice vintage condition and finally the interior gold molding band. This frame has knicks and knacks of time and the lower arm has blistering of the paint and a little white line. If you look at the last picture i told a detailed ... moreshot. This is a very well made wood frame, it has a wire and is ready to hang in the portrait mode, there is also a piece of glass that fits that i can send with it if you want. So overall this is one of those things in the macro looks nice, but if you are a micro person, this would need touch up type work! Vintage Carved Wood MID-CENTURY Modern Beige GOLD Picture Frame 12 x 14 c1950s
Here is a beautiful vintage hand-carved wood picture frame circa 1950s. It measures 17 1/2 x 19 1/2 ins. in total. And the insert rabbet size is 12 1/8 x 14 1/8 ins. A 12 x 14 ins. piece of art will work in here. The wood is a lighter weight wood, and has been finished with a gilt gold and a beige wash over that. Alot of the finish is worn away, and the red bole underlay is revealed. This gives it a really gorgeous authentic patina, that is faked in newer frames today to mimic the original old ones. The frame is in fair/good as is vintage condition with the aforementioned finish of gilt gold and beige paint worn away, a one are of the inert liner wood has a crack in it.
