First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. This auction is for a Beautiful Matching Pair Antique Victorian Brass Fancy Picture Frame with the easel stand and are actually marked PAT APR 24-94. They are both marked PAT APR 24-94 on the back of the frames very clearly with a matching number(possibly style number) near the patent markings. The marks are engraved on the backside of the frame. They are in good shape with some signs of age and also still have the glass with the frame. The edges of the glass are rough cut. The frames have a lovely. Leafy design. These are large frames and has the original patina in good condition and measures approximately 9" across and 12" tall. Each weighs almost 2 pounds. They would make a nice addition to a collection or would also make a lovely touch to any home on any Vanity or Dresser. Very fancy with deep flower and scroll work. The opening ... morewould display a picture size of approximately 4" by 6" These would look great with either a picture or a mirror which can be obtained locally. Nice patina to the metal and can be cleaned easily or left as is. Each measures 13” x 15”widest. Frame size 10” x 12” 1 ¼” deep. One has old glass, both frames have older(maybe original) wooden carved edge back boards. Found with antique presidential lithographs in them of Jefferson and Monroe from 1830's by E. Bisbee- will be listed. Condition- overall good for age/use. Corner stenciling has darkened and 1 has loss to edge/corner, few nicks/dents and paint losses on frame edges.please examine photos carefully. VICTORIAN PAIR OF SMALL MATCHING GILDED BRASS FRAMES IN LEATHERETTE CASES
From my personal collection of miniature& small decorative frames. Sweet pair of matching gilded brass oval frames in original leatherette cases with satin& velvet lining. The oval measures just over 2" x just over 2 3/4" The delicate, lacy fretwork on each side is 1/2" wide at widest. Each frame has its original slightly convex glass. These often came in pairs for husband& wife portrait paintings done on you-know-what(it won't let be list because I used the dreaded"I" word! even though that is not what I am selling-get your act together EBay! I can find no markings at all, but they are most likely US or German-made. Both in very nice, ready-for-use condition. The cases are a little"wonky" at the spine, the satin inside is holding them together like the spine on a book. Some slight wear to ... morethe color on the cases, I think some cordovan shoe polish will restore them back like new. I leave that to the new owners.
