First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. This auction is for a Beautiful Matching Pair Antique Victorian Brass Fancy Picture Frame with the easel stand and are actually marked PAT APR 24-94. They are both marked PAT APR 24-94 on the back of the frames very clearly with a matching number(possibly style number) near the patent markings. The marks are engraved on the backside of the frame. They are in good shape with some signs of age and also still have the glass with the frame. The edges of the glass are rough cut. The frames have a lovely. Leafy design. These are large frames and has the original patina in good condition and measures approximately 9" across and 12" tall. Each weighs almost 2 pounds. They would make a nice addition to a collection or would also make a lovely touch to any home on any Vanity or Dresser. Very fancy with deep flower and scroll work. The opening ... morewould display a picture size of approximately 4" by 6" These would look great with either a picture or a mirror which can be obtained locally. Nice patina to the metal and can be cleaned easily or left as is. 2 Real Antique Vintage Matching Wood Picture Frames 40' 50'S ???
These are both real old wood picture frames. I know they are at least from the 50's cause they were my grandmothers. I havent cleaned them at all either so they come with some old dust too. There really isnt any damage on them other than that back where the wood splits a little bit. Other than that they are real nice and for someone who knows a thing or two about proper wood restoration they would be an easy clean. They are deep dish too and measure 14 x almost 12" wide on the very outside. The inside opening where the picture goes is for an 8x10. The edge measure over 2" too. This item is a matching pair of antique Flemish wood frames. They have matching prints or lithographs with the images of John Alden and Priscilla by C. W. Georges. The names are burned into the wood as titles. The prints are both copyright 1902 The Ullman Mfg Co. New York. They have age but I am not sure how old they are. They are the burned in design with a spinning wheel in both and ribbons in both. John Alden print has some water damage at the bottom but the wood is good. The sides are about 2 and 1/2 inches wide. And have carved/formed plaster designs. The frames are painted gold, and appear to have a newer coat of gold paint on them. Both frames have a hanger installed on their backs that hangs the frames vertically on the wall. I believe these frames are older, but repainted some time ago. The condition of both frames is used but good. The paint is in good condition on both. There is scratches and cracking on both frames, and discoloration in some areas. There is some cracking in the plaster motif, and part of the plaster boarder is missing on one of the frames. Please refer to pictures to gain the best perspective on each frames condition. Both fold out easels are broken off. But I am including them(see photos) Perhaps. A repair can be done to somehow attach the easels, or do something where the frames could be hung, or can lean on a separate standing easel. They are beautiful frames with lovely details and a good size. They should find a new home. Metal does not attract a magnet. I do believe that the material is cast iron with a brass plating. Each measures 13” x 15”widest. Frame size 10” x 12” 1 ¼” deep. One has old glass, both frames have older(maybe original) wooden carved edge back boards. Found with antique presidential lithographs in them of Jefferson and Monroe from 1830's by E. Bisbee- will be listed. Condition- overall good for age/use. Corner stenciling has darkened and 1 has loss to edge/corner, few nicks/dents and paint losses on frame edges.please examine photos carefully. This very impressive frame is 31 X 27 overall and 2" deep. The inside print area is 22 X 17. The print in this frame is not marked and is relatively modern. There is some damage to the gold guilded plaster. The back is wood. This frame was originally made for an oil painting. We have nice Bateman and other frames and wildlife prints in our store.
