LARGE ANTIQUE DEEP WALNUT FRAME WITH BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE ENGRAVING OF TWO WOMEN– name on lower center is“PRES DES CASCADES– NEAR THE FALLS. Walnut frame and engraving are both circa 1860– 1880’s. Probably original to the frame. Old wavy glass and old wood backing. Both probably original to the frame. Two women are seated near waterfalls– each is wearing a fancy Victorian dress. Bonnets, and one is holding a parasol. Maybe Niagara Falls? Antique print has some all-over age discoloration. More noticeable on the margins than on the print. The discoloration does not detract from the print because it is hardly noticeable. Framed in an early Victorian walnut frame with original Victorian gold tone liner- both in original condition– a few discolorations on the gold tone liner– especially on the lower edge– see my pictures. The outer corners of the ... moreframe are tight– no wiggle. No spaces. Frame has old glass and wood backing. The lower right edge of the print is marked: ANNEDOUCHE SCULP. The lower left edge is marked: BROCHARD PINX The lower center has the title of the print PRES DES CASCADES– NEAR THE FALLS. In small print below the engraving is IMPRIME PAR ALFRED JARDON JEUNE 3 RUE RACINE PARIS. At the very bottom is AM WASSERFALL. I have added photos of the writing but it is very light. Frame outside edges measured from the back are 26 ½ inches by 31 ¾ inches. Frame& contents weigh about 12- 13 pounds before any packing materials. Beautiful turn of the century French antique bronzed picture frame Very rare. These frames at this level of detail and size are hard to find. Ive never seen one this large. Bronzed over metal Exquisite and fine details of cherubs and scrolls throughout. Please see close up images of the faces of these figures. The details represent fine workmanship. This frame is a a large piece measuring 14 ½” in height and 10” length left to right. It has not been cleaned. Just a light wiping of the dust that remained on it after all these years. Contains an antique colored print of ABRAHAM LINCOLN marked on the lower center COPYRIGHT 1927 BY FROST& REED(of Bristol England) IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Lower right side is marked T. Hamilton Crawford– see my photo. Also has small printing on the top center of the print“published…printsellers 1927… The antique frame circa 1890’s– 1920’s. The print is circa 1920’s. Original gold tone liner in the frame. Which is dark and has discolorations. DETAILS: The antique print is in good condition. Not faded, not torn, not stained. The print has a mat with hand drawn lines around the opening for the print. The upper left corner of the mat was cut just a slight bit more narrow– see my photo with red arrow. Frame is good and solid– corners are tight. No wiggle. ... moreThe finish on the oak is the original dark oak color– almost looks like walnut when hanging on the wall. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN WALNUT FRAME WITH GOLD TONE LINER. ORIGINAL CONDITION. Frame is circa 1880’s– 1890’s. 26 ¼ inches by 33 ¼ inches. Frame contains a vintage print. The vintage print is circa 1950– 1960’s– of an afternoon tea party. With lots of people in elaborate outfits, and children and a dog very interested in the pastries. A fine print with lots of details to it– you can look at the print for a long time and feel as though you are in the midst of the tea party. Outer measurements of the frame are 26 ¼ inches by 33 ¼ inches. Size of the opening for the glass and contents is 21 inches by 28 ¼ inches. The walnut is about 2 inches deep measured from the side and the front. Including the gold tone liner, is about 3 inches. The walnut frame is in good condition– a few superficial“use” scratches and small“wear spots” ... moreon the front– not really visible. Finish is dark. Probably original– nice color– some light spots from camera glare. The gold tone liner is in good condition but has some age darkening spots all over– see photo. LARGE ANTIQUE ROSEWOOD& OAK FRAME WITH GESSO CARVING. 24 ¾ inches by 28 ¾ inches, measured from the outside. A very impressive frame. In good condition. Original matte finish in good condition. Frame opening size is 16+ inches by 20+ inches(16-1/8 inch by 20-1/8 inch) Original finish on the frame– has not been restored or touched-up– other than some old touch-up to the inside gold layer around the glass. Frame is circa 1880– 1910’s. Would be beautiful around an antique oil painting or old print. Details: Frame weighs almost 9 pounds before any packing materials. No glass. No backing. Frame only. The gesso carving on the frame is all there and is not loose. Some of the very outside layer of the gesso carving is a little lighter color and has some minor cracking from age. Antique Lg Ornate Carved Gesso Gold Gilt Wood Picture Frame Late C19th Victorian Up for auction we have this antique estate-rescued extra large picture frame. This is a very nice quality frame with gold leaf- showing great craftsmanship. Character& style. The frame has thick sculpted. Elaborate& ornate gesso. It has wide. Thick moldings, that total 4 1/2 inches wide. There are 3 distinctly different parts to the frame. The outer panel is 1 1/2" wide- it is a simple gold leaf panel with a curved molding The middle panel is 2" wide- it is the most ornate part of the frame. It has a beautifully carved design that repeats every 4 1/2 inches. The inner panel is just over 1" wide and is a gold leaf panel with a 1/2” wide ornate carved design on the inside edge. We do not see any makers marks or names. The two original hooks ... morefor hanging are still attached to the eyelets on the back. The back of the frame is a dark aged wood- this is an old frame. From our research we believe this from the Victorian era. The late 1800s. The i nside rabbet measurements are 40 3/8" x 18 1/8" The outside frame measurements are 48 3/4" x 26 3/4" The moulding measures 4 1/2" wide and is approx 2" thick. This frame weighs approx 8 lbs. The frame is in very good vintage condition. The wood has no cracks or structural damage. The gold leaf has age expected patina and light hairline cracks. As you can see in our pictures. The gesso finish has some minimal losses. We have made no attempt to clean the frame to preserve the age patina. Please look at our pictures and ask any questions you may have. We are not experts on antique frames- we have tried to research this area as we will be listing several antique frames that we have rescued from old estates. Gorgeous Victorian brass. Cooper bronze mirror. This mirror is super heavy and very well made. I believe it is at least 100 years old. Beautiful ornate frame with a French style bow on top. The frame looks to be solid brass and the detail on too is either copper or bronze. The mirror shows its age with some fogging and dark spots on the glass, which is typical only for the very old mirrors. The back of the mirror as well as the stand are all metal, I believe they are solid brass. Can be used as a dresser, vanity or a table mirror. This is an excellent c1840 American dry oxblood red painted primitive frame. Beautiful original dry. Alligatored, dark red surface with great patina. Nice condition w ith some scratches and wear which only contribute to the patina. Good primitive look. Slightly canted molding with mitered. Square nailed corners and painted sides. Some shrinkage/separation at the corners. Original wavy glass and shingle backboard. Rare larger than normal size. measures 17 x 21 with a 12 x 16 rabbet. Antique Lg Triple Walnut Victorian Frame-27.5" x 23.5" w Lithograph Child Jesus
This is a very lovely vintage lithograph of Jesus as a child. Most likely a Northern European likeness. Gorgeous blue eyes, curly blondish brown hair, pale coloring. His robe is decorated around the neck and sleeves with a blue overlapped robe. He has a wooden cross in his left hand, up over his shoulder. He also has a globus cruciger(Latin for"cross- bearing orb" in his right hand. It symbolizes Christ's(the cross) dominion over the world(the orb) Literally held in the dominion of the ruler, or sometimes a celestial being like an angel. When held by Christ himself, the being is known in iconography of Western art as Salvator Mundi(Saviour of the World)Courtesy of Wikipedia. No pixels observed with the jewelers loop, great vintage colors in the lithograph. The lithograph is 20 1/4" by 16" no issues at all to report, ... moreno rips, tears or holes, no odor. The print is unsigned. There are slight darkened spots noticed on both side edges, I believe this is due to age and where the nails were hammered into the underneath backing. The glass appears original, some waviness noted, no chips or cracks. This 1800's Victorian frame is stunning. And large, 27 1/2" by 23 1/2" and approximately 2" thick. Made up of three heavy wooden frames fitted together, just a masterful work. The outer two frames are Walnut, the inner most was painted a pale cream color which does highlight the print very nicely as you can see by my photos. I would think that innermost frame was walnut also but do not know in fact. There are a few little"dings" noted, but none too spectacular. Could easily be remedied with a gentle cleaning and some wax, or a wax/ stain product. The finish on this frame is shiny, and very well loved, see 5th and 6th photos for a close up. The back is done in a heavy, old cardboard, now darkened from age, I have never tried to lift this board, as I felt no need and worried about its fragile state.
