It measures 12 1/4" wide by 14 1/8" tall by 2 3/4" deep- the image section measures 7 5/8" by 9 1/2" it has some wear on the paint on the carved grain painted section where it meets the gold painted inner section and some wear on the finish on the walnut- it is structurally in excellent condition- the glass is also in excellent condition.

You are looking at a very special and somewhat rare I would imagine by now at least-Empire(eaerly Victorian? grain painted picture frame in just wonderful condition-considering its a 150 years old or more.the few slight scratches that exist would be more than easily covered with old English Scratch cover and then waxes-I chose not to do this but instead to let you see the frame as it exist now. I looked but could not find a signature on the frame-but there really must be one-I just don't know very much about picture frames I'm certain. It's also a a very nice size-18 1/2 by 15 1/2 outside and inside 9 1/2 by 12 1/2. It has wood grain in the straight sections and carved wooden roses that have been hand painted or tinted on the curved corners. This frame is very old. Rare 19th Century Antique Pair WALNUT OVAL FRAMES Tastefully Grain Painted
Offered for sale is this hard to find pair of antique Oval Walnut Frames in very good overall condition. The glass in both is older. But I believe has been changed, probably within the last 50 years. The frames are very tastefully grain painted as I had to look twice to see it! These are not a matched pair, as there are small differences in the wood carvings designs, but they look very good together. I purchased them at an estate auction held in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. There are a few small dings and light scratches, but overall they are much better than one would expect from late 19th Century frames. The deep dark color and patina gives these a great"antique" look! They measure about 14" by 12" in total size and the picture opening on the back measures about 10" by 8" The white oval border ... moreis just a paper mat and can be removed easily if needed. This is an old wooden oval picture frame. Large size. The wood is all one piece: the inner rim is part of the large frame. The large part of the frame slopes down to inner rim and also slopes down to outer edge. The inner rim and outside flat edge(depth) are painted black. The brown frame has a wood grained effect(light and dark swirls) painted on it. There are no chips or cracks; there are a few scratches which Old English will cover easily. There is no glass. The frame measures approximately 24.5" by 20.5"

Up for auction is an antique grain painted country style picture frame recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It has a wonderful. Painted surface, red on black, and will accommodate an approximate 14 1/2" x 20" glass, mirror or canvas as well. There are some surface scratches and nicks throughout. It appears that a few stickers have been on the surface. Bastine, or a similar product like lighter fluid, will help remove this sticky material. ANTIQUE GRAIN PAINTED WOODEN FRAME IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION– a few superficial scratches. The frame is circa 1910’s. Contains an antique print- a page from a Victorian children’s nursery rhyme book–THE THREE BEARS. The center has a colored print– a chromolith– of the the 3 bears cooking– probably making porridge– initials J L on the lower left side. The print is circa 1900’s. A very unusual scene of the 3 bears– Mama Bear& Papa Bear in their nightshirts. Mama Bear is snuggled up close to the roaring Papa Bear. Around the center picture are small pictures of the bears and parts of the nursery rhyme. With THE THREE BEARS on the upper left side. NO MENTION AT ALL OF GOLDILOCKS– on the lower right side the caption is WELL SHE MIGHT HAVE TOLD US HER NAME. The two upper corners have Victorian cut-outs to cover the slanted corners on the page– ... morethe nursery rhyme book had slanted upper corners. The page is not matted– is mounted on a complimentary color. Some all-over very slight discoloration– making the page light beige– this could be the original color of the page? A nice antique frame. 12 ½ inches by 13 ¾ inches from the outside. Frame opening is 11 ¼ inches by just over 12 ½ inches. The frame is firm. No wiggle– corners are tight. Outside edges on the sides of the frame look as though they were re-touched. Frame and contents weigh about 3 pounds before any packing materials. The antique frame has glass. The antique print, and cardboard backing. ALL SALES FINAL. I am selling items that have some age to them. Naturally there will be irregularities and flaws. Just because of the age. FAUX BOIS Grain Painted Folk Art OLDorig GOLD GILDED Federal ART PICTURE FRAME
Up for auction is this great old antique frame with an apparently interesing paint history. At one time in it's past it was completely gold gilded. There are traces of the gold under the brown paint and under the orange grain painted columns on all sides. It is now an orange and cream folk art grain painted design on the raised columns with duller gold bands with that shiny gold gilding peeking through all over. Three of the corners have a round metal decoration, 1 corner is missing the metal. The construction is sound, all corners are tight, there is no wobble. Old antique square cut nails are visible on the back with 2 old eyehooks. Measures 22 1/4 inches by 11 3/4 inches. The inside measurements from the back are 19 1/2 inches by 9 1/4 inches. Displays beautifully as is, not sure what would be involved to strip it down to the original ... moregilding. At any rate, it is a very unique frame. Circa 1910 Oval Painted Tiger Grain Wood Picture Frame with Convex Bubble Glass
A lovely Victorian wood picture frame with tiger wood grain. Convex bubble glass and a portrait of a lady. Her picture has extra highlights on her earrings and hair. The glass is original and is convex dome bubble glass. The frame is made of wood with a thin layer of plaster over it, then painted with a brown and black tiger grain design. The frame is age appropriately worn and has light plaster chips on sides which you can see best in the third photo. There is cardboard backing which is not original to the piece.
