Condition: The stool is in excellent condition with no breaks or flaws to the old lovely patina. There is a repair to one corner and I took pictures so you could see it. Other than that it is lovely. It has never been around animals or smoke. I restore and reupholster my furniture when needed and I have a big carriage barn that I store my antiques in.NO animals.NO smoke and I sell in lovely condition. Antique Brass Plated Metal Easel Photo Frame CDV Size French Style
I believe this small antique brass-plated metal photo frame was intended to hold carte de visite size photos. It measures approximately 3" x 4&1/4" overall and the back plate measures approximately 2&1/2" x 3&7/8" As shown. It has scratches and wear, a bend in the metal, and a piece of old cellophane tape(stubbornly) stuck to the back. I've never tried to straighten out the bend because I like the way it looks as it is. I couldn't find a manufacturer's mark. But the back is imprinted"pat apl'd for" and what looks like the date Sep 14 97(1897) is imprinted at the bottom of frame back. Please note that the metal does not attract a magnet-I stuck a business card in the frame for display and used a small rare earth magnet on BOTH sides of the metal to hold it in place.

This is an old antique frame from a Maine estate. Frame measures outside 18" X 22" Picture space 12 1/4" X 16 1/4" Lips are 5/16" I believe this frame is all wood because there is not any flaws or cracked gesso. If it is gesso moldings they are in excellent condition. There are a few drips of what seems to be white paint probably picked up from wall painting where it was hanging. Can see an old auction lot number on corner back. Old style I'm guessing at least 19th century maybe older. Old gilt has a brownish fade. Two of the corners have a visable nail hole. Vintage NEWCOMB MACKLIN French Style ROCOCO Picture Frame MidCentury 1950s 20 x 24 ins. Insert Rare frame Here is a large Mid-Century gesso and wood picture frame. Made in the French Rococo style. In total it measures 26 x 30 1/4 ins. the insert for your art is 20 x 24 ins. The depth of the inner ledge is about 1/2 inch. When I turned this frame over to photograph it, I noticed the splines/joinery corner pieces, which is constructed like Newcomb Macklin made their frames. I do not see a mark or stamp on this, but it could have been knocked off if it was a tag or label years ago.Without a stamp or mark I was not positive it was Newcombe Macklin but a knowledgeable framer wrote me and told me it definitely is, that it is Pattern no. 7217 and finish M590. The frame is made of composition( gesso) And wood. The gesso is painted with a red bole ... moreunderlay, and then white/beige and gold paint over that. It is in fair/good as is condition. It does have areas of gesso loss, to the right side back edge in a few areas, and down the back edge of the frame( most of the gesso is knocked off one side back ledge) This can be professionally restored if it bothers you, or left as is. The back of the frame has pencil notations about paint finishes, and what looks like a item number, and the measurements 20 x 24.The frame is quite heavy and solid. It will have to be shipped in a large box to protect the gesso. I bought this with a late 1950s oil portrait inside. Measures 27 x 33 ins. in total size, and the inner rabbet is 18 3/16th x 24 3/16th ins with molding about 5 ins. wide.A 18 x 24 painting will fit in here. It appears to be carved wood, not resin or composite, real wood. It also has compo or as some people say gesso ornamentation on the surround. It has a reddish bole or paint underlay, gold and whitewash overlay. The frame is very solid and heavy. ANTIQUE BRASS FRENCH STYLE TRIPTYCH DIMINUTIVE PHOTO FRAME - LATE 1800's
For your consideration is this exquisite antique French style brass diminutive triptych photo frame. I am speculating this wonderful little frame was made in the late 1800's due to the style with the easel back and what appears to be a gold finish. Ormolu. The gilding process used in the 1800's was accomplished by applying a gold-mercury amalgam over a base metal and then applying extreme heat to rid the piece of the mercury leaving just the gold. I am not an expert on this but suggest this may be an ormolu piece because it has a beautiful warm gold color, not brassy at all with the exception of the back plates which do appear more of a true brass color. Please look at the photos carefully as they are part of the description and show in detail the amazing beauty of this little frame. Three wonderful little frames hinged together to ... moremake a stunning display of the then common tiny photos one would get straight from the photographer. If you can imagine the old negatives you used to get with your photos when you took them to be developed, these were about the same size diminutive photos that were so popular back then. Easy to just develop the negative without enlarging. The larger center frame measures just shy of 3.25" tall by 2" wide and each side frame measures just shy of 2.5" tall by 1.75" wide. Please note that these frames do not all fold flat on top of one another. the hinges won't allow it. One frame will fold in flat and then the other only folds so far. Each frame has what appears to be a rose colored silk shantung covered matt with gold edging. The photos just don't do a justice for this little frame. We are pleased to offer this extraordinary. Antique(19thC) framed needlepoint. The frame is large. It is an ornate, Barbizon style, carved gilt wood with a deep, raised relief pattern of scrolled acanthus leaves and shells. The frame features 3 sections/tiers of relief patterns separated by smooth sections which are painted black. The frame houses a beautiful antique, chinoiserie, wool petit point(under glass) of intricate birds in a cherry tree. It is quite lovely and colorful and exquisitely accomplished. The frame has a unique, square trim added to the back so that the frame has a deep profile and extends from the wall much like a shadowbox. The frame is in very good condition for its age. There are a couple of small scuffs and hairline cracks on the gilded finish. But they are minor. There is a random nail on the frame face. I do not ... morethink that the black paint is original and it was probably added at some point. You can see brush strokes on the black painted finishes and some of the gold underneath does peek through. There is some chipping and peeling of the black top coat as well. The petit point is in very good condition with no frayed areas or rips, tears, etc. There are no visible marks on the frame. The frame has a cloth backing under wood supports. We have not removed to check for a makers mark. The table measures 27" x 23" It extends 4.75" from the wall. This charming ormolu-style metal(brass-plated tin? photo frame was sold from a department store in Baltimore. Maryland, and judging by the price sticker on the back, it dates to the very early twentieth century. It measures approximately 4&1/2" x 3&3/4" not including the bow accent at top. It has lovely fine details and the ormolu-style decoration at top is still firmly welded to the frame. The cardboard backing is missing its easel. But retains the original metal ring hook that enables the frame to hang flat and securely on a wall. The frame holds a very old print of the painting Light of the World by Charles Bosseron Chambers. The print is faded and worn and has a water stain at bottom edge, but I think it suits the frame, so I have not removed it. The frame is in good condition. Antique Large French Style Gold Gilt Ornate Portrait Frame 25 X 29 7/8 Opening
This is a beautiful antique large French style gold gilt ornate portrait frame. I'm not exactly sure as to its age. Perhaps very late 19th century to very early 20th century. As to its origin. My general feeling is it's European, but I can't be sure. Overall it measures 27 1/4 inches x 32 inches(69.2 cm x 81.3 cm) The back opening size is 25 1/8 inches x 29 7/8 inches(63.8 cm x 75.9 cm) The molding width varies from 1 1/4 inches to 1 7/8 inches(3.2 cm. 4.8 cm) Hopefully your art is a slight touch under 30 inches. However, a back can be professionally cut out to make it a little larger if necessary. I must say. This frame is a real beauty. It's not made with nails. But instead lap joints. It's a very well made frame and must have been made by a very talented frame maker. The color on it is just lovely. In addition to the ... morebeautiful gold. You can see the red bole showing through in various places. It has its original wavy and bubbled glass. Though it does have some light scratches on it. There are a few places with slight damage. On the long molding in the top left corner a 1/2 inch x 1/4 inch(1.27 cm x.63 cm) piece of the linear molding is chipped off. This same exact piece is chipped off on the right side. The bottom left corner has chipping of about 1 inch at the interior corner where there is very ornate molding(please see photos) There are a number of age related hairline cracks. But they just blend in with the frame. There are a few other minor dings to it given its age. But nothing significant. It has what are most likely its original hanging rings on the back.
