The front bottom corners depict a winged dragon. Wyvern, Scitalis, or winged-Griffin] having only two front legs with paw feet, and a serpent's tail. complete with swivel easel-stand on lower back. Its original intended purpose was either a photo or[enamel] picture frame. Or decorative vanity/accent mirror. At top center is a pedestal urn with fruit or flowers above the broken-pediment- a face of a deity below. The highly decorated border has a lighted torch finial on each top side. Below those are"C-scrolls" with drapery dangling a pendant. And a small tassel along each side edge. Other touches include swags, shells, leaves, and/or feathers. This ... morepiece has high detail! I find no maker marks or stamps. Other than a couple of Roman numbers along the back bottom of frame border(which I cannot make out, but I can see an X and an I) I'm unsure of the exact age. But I can assure you that it is at minimum 115 years OLD. The frame will hold an oval photo(or an oval mirror) The oval window for the PICTURE area measures a TAD over 8" inches high x 6-1/2" inches across. 20.32 cm x 16.51 cm] The total piece measures: 14" inches high[35.56 cm] highest) x 9.5" 24.13 cm] across the splayed feet. It is strong and sturdy. Again. This is SOLID brass(a magnet does not stick to brass and a magnet does not stick to this piece) In excellent antique condition with original screws and four metal holders. The brass is strong and sturdy with a soft length-wise curve that does NOT affect the central frame area. It has a natural. Aged patina(like antiqued gold) since the original gilding has worn off(there is some evidence of a heavy yellow-gold overlay[gilt; leafing] around the perimeter on back of oval) You're welcome to polish it to a high shine, have it re-gilded, or spray it. We are offering a beautifully detailed French Ormolu Photo frame. This lovely old frame has lost most of the cream colored silk that encircled it. Exposing a pale eggshell blue beneath it. The gold ornamentation remains intact as does the rhinestone band encircling the inner frame edge. The frame can stand or has a loop for hanging. I do not see a makers mark but there are what might be 2 letters or numbers on one of the tabs on the back. This is an outstanding frame to grace any boudoir!

Fine Regency style French ormolu picture frame with floral and ribboned finial. Outside measurement is 9 1/4 by 5 5/8 inches wide. The insert measurement is 7 1/4 long and 4 3/4 inches wide. The easel is 7 3/4 inches long all the tabs are in tact. One tab upper left is smaller than the others but there and still useable. This is a beautiful frame for the collector who wants original and the better of its kind. My feedback is very important to me I am committed to pleasing my buyers. Up for Buy it Now is this absolutely fantastic vintage French gilt brass frame that has an overall measurement of 15 by 18 inches with the sight size measuring 10 by 13 inches. The frame is made of gilt brass or bronze and has separately cast and applied leaves and fruit. The interior lining or matte is made of white silk with a gilt ormolu liner. Aside from someone adding a strip of wood to the easel back for stability the frame is in overall excellent condition. There are two eyelets on the back of the frame so it can be hung from a wall.

The glass measures 4 1/4 inches high and 2 3/4 inches wide and is in good condition– with only a small nibble on two bottom corners- not really visible when a photograph is in place. This antique brass-plated metal photo frame has such a gorgeous detailed design of daisies. Roses, and swags-please view the closeups and use zoom feature to see the fine detail. It has wear and patina, but is structurally sound, with no significant scratches. It does have tarnish and some verdigris here and there, which only adds to its chic and shabby appeal! As shown. There is very old cloth tape residue on the bottom-I presume this would have been to protect a tabletop, as there is no need for the tape otherwise since the metal has no significant separation and no breaks anywhere. Maryland, and judging by the price sticker on the back, it dates to the very early twentieth century. It measures approximately 4&1/2" x 3&3/4" not including the bow accent at top. It has lovely fine details and the ormolu-style decoration at top is still firmly welded to the frame. The cardboard backing is missing its easel. But retains the original metal ring hook that enables the frame to hang flat and securely on a wall. The frame holds a very old print of the painting Light of the World by Charles Bosseron Chambers. The print is faded and worn and has a water stain at bottom edge, but I think it suits the frame, so I have not removed it. The frame is in good condition.
