Offered here is an original(circa 1900-1920) wooden framed, lithograph(artist unknown) affording the collector a wonderful image of a young boy, guiding a Saint Bernard with precious cargo, through the forest undergrowth along the bank of a woodland stream. The little girl tentatively clings to her brother, while riding the massive St. Bernard; leaving a cottage in the background. A beautiful image; with each child wearing attire of the times; the boy with an interesting fur cap. The early lithograph presents very well, although showing some mention worthy stress lines at the left portion of the image. This is a awesome circa 1900- 1920 arts& crafts era very wide gilt and carved frame for a oil painting. This frame is 19" x 22" on the exterior and 8 15/16" x 12" or 9 x 12. I just wanted to be accurate and the is 5.5"w x 1 7/8"d. The frame overall is in excellent condition with a few minor rubs and tiny touch ups needed in a couple corners but nothing detracting. This is a very nice signed.925 stamped with other hallmarks picture frame with brown velvet back from a non smoking climate controlled home. Overall width is 2 1/2 and height measured is 3 5/8. The image view through the glass is 2 1/2 inches high x 1 1/2 inch wide. The last photo is an attempt to show the hallmarks. It is clearly marked 925 and has other hallmarks which I cannot identify. This is part of an ongoing downsizing, and ill be listing many other fine items as the weeks come. Questions welcome. The frame is a Gresso wood with some thin gold inside trim. The glass in this is very old"original" and shows the swirls in the glass. The frame measures 18 by 14 on the outside with a depth of 1 1/2 inches. It's hard to measure the interior because of the cardboard on back. You're bidding on a nifty tabletop wood frame with easel construction.this ebonized. Eastlake-style example was created in the 1880's.in chipped but otherwise good condition(see below) From a local estate.see our eBay seller's list for more fresh finds. Pictured with an apple to help illustrate its size. Forgive any reflections in the glass. This example has a hand painted matte with an inner ruffled velvet lining. Under glass, a lovely Victorian thing. Carved details throughout-see photos. Total height is 20-1/4" and the width is 8-1/4" Sight measurements of the glass are 10-3/4 by 6-3/4" The opening for the picture is about 3-3/4" by 7-1/4" at the center of the domed top. Easel-type leg device attached with hinges-all original. The condition is good but as is due to the number of chips to the ebonized ... moresurface. Structurally sound with no missing or replaced parts. Take a good look at all the photos to better ascertain the condition. The chips reveal the white of the gesso underneath as do the carved details. The matte is quite nice(and beautifully executed) The most interior cardboard lining. Behind the velvet, has a chip.
