A crested head, a variety of feather types& colors. The background has green/yellow leaves with pink& white and blue& white flowers along a tree branch. The beaks& feet are also painted. They measure nearly 5 1/2 x 8 inches The backs have the original paper tape& are stamped Hecho En Mexico. Here& there are sections where the paper tape split at the inside edge of the frame. But it is intact, all the paper is still there- it is not dirty or ragged- I would still consider it in good shape. They each have a thick cloth( loop for hanging. This is an incredible antique inlay. Inlaid handcarved folk art primitive wood picture frame. The original finish has not been touched. It is probably from the 1930s. I believe the wood is pine with a couple of other woods mixed in. Since the frame was probably near heat. It has developed one of the best crackling finishes I've ever seen. Because the photo is an African-American man. I believe he or a family member or friend made it. And have remained with the original family. Early 20th Century frame is of solid construction with mitered corners and dark brown paint on plywood back. Back can easily be removed by pulling out the brads. Front of frame is dark olive green. The bonnet top contains Pennsylvania Dutch style hand painted flowers. Leaves and swirls, in greens, orange, and yellow. The painted wood has many places where the paint has flaked off. It is naturally distressed and there have been no attempts at restoration. Very good shabby chic condition. Original screw eyes and wire are intact. 18" x 14" floral print on board is in very good condition. Primitive Folk Art Handmade Hand-painted Multi-color Wood Frame
This is a handmade. Hand painted folk art wood frame that measures 12 1/2 inches by 10 inches on the outside and the inside dimensions for the picture are 7 1/4 inches by 5 1/4 inches. This frame is used and is in nice condition. A few"character" nicks and one side has a crack in it that looks like it might have been there when it was painted. Antique Black Forest Wood Carved Picture Frame. This is a beautifully carved and layered frame with a wood back and very old nails. This is hand carved and the pieces fit together like a puzzle. I would say it has four layers. The frame has nice dimension. The picture in the frame was purchased with the frame and is a studio picture from Detroit, Michigan. It is of five females and has been tinted after developing and has that silver shine look.Sorry, old pictures confuse me) The glass in the frame was hand cut period glass and all of the pieces of wood are hand cut, as is the backing. The wire mounting wire is old and rusty. The picture is 4 x 2 1/2 and the frame measures 6 3/4" x 5 5/8" Very nice antique and it will be even prettier all cleaned and polished. They are believed to be from the early 1900's and come with the original military photos that were found with the frames. The photos are from the Nuremberg.
