Beautiful Antique Finely Detailed Meissen Kate Smith Estate Flower Girl Figurine
November 30. 1986 RALEIGH, N.C. The memorabilia that chronicled the life of singer Kate Smith, famed for her rendition of'God Bless America' during World War II, was sold at auction Saturday, drawing fans and collectors from across the country. At time of auction. All articles were given provenance marks and sold to benefit Kate's heirs. Miss Smith loved Meissen porcelain, and offered here for sale is one of her beautiful Meissen pastoral figurines of a lady gathering flowers from that auction. She is 7 3/4" tall, and the losses are minor, considering her age. The detail of the hand work is amazing. We were told by an expert that the lace is not tatted(which we were told) but Irish crochet with dimensional flowers and clovers with picot bar joinings. Who knew? The condition is excellent. There may be minor discoloration. But we really can't see any. There are no tears. It has been kept in perfect shape. The peg box has three perfect curls to either side of the scroll and the double finger carving on the back has a thinly molded edge and center. The outside edge of the front and figured maple back raises up slightly around the inlaid purfling. The overall length is 23 ¾ inches long. The body measures 14 1/8 inches long with a 6 ¼ inch upper bout and 8 inch wide lower bout. There is a very fine hairline at the bottom edge of both f-holes. This is the only physical problem with this finely made antique violin and there is no evidence of any restoration. The finger board measures 10 5/16 of an inch long. There are no makers’ marks on this fine quality Violin. But I guarantee it is a high quality instrument. In the right hands it won’t take long to set it up and be ready play. Each piece is marked EBONY on the bottom. Candlesticks also marked MADE IN ENGLAND with registration numbers. They are beautifully made with huge screws. So the bases can be removed for cleaning. The clock works but is rather hard to wind. Probably needs a good cleaning and the back is a bit rusty. It has two chips of wood missing from the back. No maker's mark on the clock face nor on the back unless it is under that rust. A very charming dresser clock. This pair of vintage finely beaded child's moccasins are from the Sioux Nation. Measure approximately 6-3/8" by 2-1/2" across the bottom. From edge to edge measure approximately 7-7/8" in length. The width is 11/16" Measures approximately 3-3/4" around the curve in the front of the shoes. Measure approximately 2-1/2" up the back of the shoe along the red beaded seam. A finely engraved copper charger of 38cms diameter. I do not know the age of this. But think it might be 19th century, and from Persia. The top is a copper colour and the back looks slightly yellow, although there is copper showing through. The number 401 has been stamped on the underside. I wonder if this is a copper top with a brass backing for extra strength? |It seems to be in good condition. I think this is all handwork, as the rim is not exactly even like a machine, but very slightly uneven as though it has been'folded' and hammered by hand. Please see all pictures included as they are part of my item descriptions. I cannot see any marking or signature on this item. But whoever did it, took pride in their workmanship, and it shows thru-out this little gem. It has some dirt or patina in some of the lower layer, and nice rubbing on the higher points. Even the sack he is leaning on is impressed with lotus all around. 4 1/2" inches long, 3" inches wide, and 2 3/4" inches high. No dings or cracks at all. If I were a Buddhist, I would keep this item. it is that nice.

It was made during the Qing Dynasty between the mid to late 19thC. The embroidery work is exquisite with fine attention to detail and is done to show depth so that it looks 3 dimensional. There are brightly colored lotus flowers and other flowers in shades of orange. Blue, pink, and green on a black background that is also decorated with a Chinese decoration. The sleeves are also finely embroidered with similar colors which are more neutral. The sleeves depict people around flowering trees. Above the sleeves are 2 seperate borders one which has similar colors as the sleeve panels and the other is decorated with flowers in different tones of blue. The robe is held together ... morein the front with 2 cloth frog closures(one is missing) with 3 buttons that look like they are gold filled or brass. Condition is very. Very good with a no rips, tears, or missing thread. There are a few very small light stains to the sleeves that are so light that they could not even be photographed. They are very very minor and hard to notice. Selling an antique late Meiji period Japanese Imari Arita handpainted porcelain plate(it has slightly raised edges as shown from the side angle) It is very finely handpainted in traditional Imari tones of iron red. Deep blue and highlighted in gilt. The detailing on this plate is very well done and features scenes of fish, birds and paulownia flowers. It is excellent antique condition- no chips or cracks. The paint and gilt are very well preserved. The back has a Fuki Chosun mark(roughly"good fortune and long life" in Japanese" as well as a single spur mark from the firing process. First. Let me say I don't know exactly what this is which may be a big find for someone. This auction is for an antique silver box. I don't know what a pill bill or a ring box is. The box is very finely engraved all around including the bottom. I think it may be silver plate as the spot where the hinge broke off looks darker(see photo) The hinge is missing. The box had a cushioned cloth lining glued in whi ch is coming lose in a couple of placed. I don't see a makers mark but I don't know where or what to look for. The box weighs 193 grams.
