The wood base is in overall good condition and structurally sound. The varnish and wood does have normal wear for its age. The pedestal legs have a detailed carved design and the center was hand spun on a lathe. Included are two newer marble tops that easily screw on. One measures 12" across and 1/2" thick. The other is 11" across and 3/4" thick with an inset. This one has a few dings on the underside along the outer edge. Nothing major. Antique Eastlake picture frame with an antique German print by Freidrich Pustat. The frame has two gilded layers. Two ebony layers.one is carved, and made of walnut. This is a lovely. Antique Eastlake frame dating from 1860- 1890 and it is in very good condition. Even the glass appears to be authentic with slight waves& a few tiny bubbles. The overall measurements are 14" wide and 16" tall and 3.25" deep. The interior print/ photo window is 8" by 10" Construction on this lovely 3-tier frame: ~ Outer- Solid Walnut with a thin gilt groove along entire front top surface. The walnut is beveled and 2" deep. ~ Middle- Multi- beveled; gilted level and a black/ gilt cross hatch design level. Total 1" depth. ~ Inner- 1/2" of beveled. Black wood, 1" of faux marble(deep green) etched on each corner with stem of flowers. Then the inner most liner is gentle bevel of gilt/ gold. There is overall patina. Commensurate with age, which adds to the antique value. There is ... morealso one, approximately 1" surface scrape along the left top back edge- barely noticeable and hidden behind a rolled walnut bevel. As for the print and backing- A lovely lady portrait in Victorian finery. The back(wall side) is covered in soft green felt. 10.5" by 12.75" which appears newer and professionally added at a later date. Along with a sawtooth hanger. Up for auction is this fabulous antique Victorian Eastlake art picure frame- ebonized and marbleized- with spoon carving. An exquisite frame. Being offered"as is as found" there is loss to the ebonized gesso- all along the edges. The marbleized areas are superb, showing wonderful color. The gold gilded liner under the black and the liner along the inside edge have darkened over the years and there is some missing along the top edge on one side. The corners are square and tight, no wobble, good solid construction. Ornate Heavily Carved Victorian Adirondack Eastlake Style Frame
Up for sale is this wonderful carved picture frame. With a leaf and branch motif. There is some dust in the crevices and hard to reach areas, but the carved section is in excellent condition otherwise, showing only light signs of use and wear. The gold trim section is not attached to the carved section, and it has been repainted. The exterior dimensions are about 14 1/2" x 11 1/2" interior is about 7 5/16" across, 9 5/8" tall without the trim. Interior of trim is about 9" x 7" There is no glass present.
