This fine pewter deep ... moredish is a wonderful example with a single reeded rim and a line around the inside of the bowl. There is the impressed famous "Love Birds" mark on the underside of the base. This mark helps to date this plate to around the time of the American Revolution or just after. This mark appears in "Guide To American Pewter" by Carl Jacobs, page 132, mark #207. Jacobs valued a 7 7/8" Dia. plate at $40 back in 1957. This is the mark of a maker or a succession of American pewterers that were believed to have operated out of the Philadelphia area in Pennsylvannia from the last half of the 18th Century.

The charger is a very fine example ... moremanufactured by one of the finest American pewter families. This is a 13" Dia. deep dish charger with a single reeded rim with a shallow bowl. There are two impressed marks on the back of the plate with an eagle with "T.D." below it. There is a second straight line maker's mark that reads, "T. DANORTH - PHILADL". This is the mark of Thomas Danforth III, who worked out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia from 1806 to 1812. While in Philadelphia he worked in the same building as Blakeslee Barns. ANTIQUE 1800's HUGE Victorian Wooden Carved Gold Picture Frame Ornate-Deep Dish
STUNNING" ANTIQUE* 1800's HUGE Gold Victorian Wooden Carved Picture Frame Deep Dish ~Great Condition~ Measures 28.5" High. 24.5" Wide and 1.5" Depth This Oversized Antique Victorian Picture Frame is from the 1800's. Made of wood with a thin layer of plaster over the frame. Then coated with gold gilt. The frame is accented with carved leaf designs. The frame is indented 1.5" The glass is wavy and is original. The photo in the frame can either be removed or kept. It's a photo of a man, then accented with colored paint in some areas to make it stand out. There is a matting around the photo too. I will leave all cleaning up to you. The back has a wire for hanging. The actual picture area measures 16" Wide and 20" High. Super 19th century Deep Dish walnut Frame w-black trim--heavy gilding innerframe
You are looking at a most wonderful mid-19th century deep dish American Walnut frame with true gilding as the inner frame. In about the best condition I have seen in many a moon-I just got a grouping of frames earlier in the day from a picker who found them in the attic of a large Burlington Hill Estate garage. The first of the frames is the one above-just about flawless-exterior size 12x14 inches; interior size 8x10. The frame has a Cezanne print in it-but its the frame thatis the value here.I am asking a little more than usual but this frame is really well worth it.
