First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. Here is a vintage print of a a double ender locomotive 1883 in a very nice vintage wooden frame. The frame is about 12" x 14" and the approximate width is 2 1/2" The inside. Where the picture is measures approx. 9 1/2" x 7 1/2" Fairly decent shape for the frame. The train picture appears soiled/stained in places. On the left side of the frame. The corners at top and bottom don't match up perfectly. I'm no expert on vintage frames. Appears to be made from some fairly heavy wood. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions.

The gold gilded liner under the black and the liner along the inside edge have darkened over the years and there is some missing along the top edge on one side. Deep set– Five levels to the frames– engraved design beautiful and simple design– rather Arts and Crafts type of design– then a black lacquer of ebony level. Back to the original wood without the carving– another black level and finally a gold gilt level– The side of the frame is in black. One of the frames still has the original glass frame covering.
