Antique Arts & Crafts 8.5 x 11 Inter Locking Picture Frame Daisy Carved
Antique Arts& Crafts era picture frame doesn't have a single nail in it! It is all interlocked together. Will accommodate anything 8.5 x 11 inches. Total size of frame is approximately 14 x 17.5 inches. There are a few issues concerning a couple of the points on the outside pieces. Judging by the patina of the wood where they had broken off I'd say the oops happened a very long time ago. It in no way deters from the beauty of this frame. The circles inside the daisies that appear to be screws. Are NOT screws but part of the carving. Please look at the pictures carefully and feel free to email me with any questions you may have.

This is a fantastic very large c1890-1920 Asian carved rosewood(or possibly some other hardwood) frame. I have never seen anything like this.beautifully hand carved flowering cherry trees done with great detail and skill. This is a entirely hand crafted piece.each molding was carved and then assembled as the back has the makers marks to match the corners(see pictures) The outer edges have a crossetted design and the base molding has a carved in footing. I can't quite decide if this is a late 19th century piece possibly made for the late Victorian interest in Asian styles or possibly later Arts and Crafts/ Aesthetic period.either way i'm confident it's from the 1890-1920 period. I also wonder if this could be Japanese and commemorate the famous 3.000 Cherry trees donated by the Japanese government in 1912 that now line the tidal ... morebasin in Washington, DC. Frame is quite large measuring 36 x 37 1/2 overall with a 26 x 27 1/2 rabbet and 6" molding. This custom carved and metal leaf frame dates ca. 1915-1935 and comes from a wealthy several- generation Chicago household. It measures 35” x 43” overall with 30 ½” x 38 ¼” 1” deep rabbet and a reveal of 29 ½” x 37 ¼” The pictures speak well for this frame. Showing the crisp hand carving, and stable antique metal leaf surface with warm areas of wear. There are some miter gaps evident. The quality is similar to Newcomb macklin, but I have never seen them use corrugated fasteners on large frames. The wood appears to be pine of some sort and the design is similar to many Foster Brothers. This is a great period molding that would be appropriate for a museum-class artwork. Antique Cherry Fruitwood Carved Frame Nouveau Arts & Crafts 18 x 20
This handsomely carved“Indian red” solid cherry wood frame has inside dimensions of 14” x 16” and outer dimensions of 18-½” x 20-½” The basic frame is 7/8” thick. With the applied carving adding another inch in depth at the corners. In addition to the carvings, there are 1/2” notches spaced approx. 2” apart along the entire inner length of the frame, which blend into the next notch by way of elongated flat diamond shapes, creating a rounded dimension detail as well. The shallow channel on back where the artwork is fitted is created by 3/4” wide applied strips attached with tiny old nails to f the frame(see photos 6& 7) Its condition is very good with just minor nicks but luckily no damage to the carvings, which are quite solid. I think it is an exceptionally well executed and attractive piece.

Here is a beautiful antique gilt gold wood picture frame. Circa early 1900s. Looks very similar to the Newcomb Mackin style picture frames. It measures 14 x 19 1/2 ins. in total, and the insert rabbet size is 10 9/16ths x 15 15/16th ins. It appears to be hand-carved and gilded a luminous true gold paint. It is in FAIR as is vintage condition with surface chips/wear/scrapes, lots of paint worn off on right side, but still sturdy. It is a black and silver original paint. There is some wear to the paint in a few sots, so it needs a little touch up. It is all hand carved and an authentic Thulin frame from the ARTS and Crafts period dated 1930. I will ship it with the mirror in it, but i will not be responsible for the mirror glass, the miror is in good condition but you are really buying it for the frame itself.
