Four high quality cast iron coat hooks based on an original Edwardian Arts& Crafts/ Art Nouveau design by C.F.A.Voysey and also very similar to a hook design by M H Baillie Scott. Elegant spear bud shaped backplates(maximum width 1.75" Each bearing three countersunk screw holes for fixing and a hook shaft which protrudes upward out from the backplate at an angle of around 45 degrees. The hooks each stand approximately 3.75" tall when fixed and protrude just under 3" from the wall. These are finished castings with any burrs/irregularities rubbed down, with a bare iron finish. There may be some light speckled surface rusting due to the unlacquered, bare-metal nature of these hooks. Can be readily lacquered or overpainted if desired. Ideal for hall stands and coat racks. Vintage Suede Table Runner Arts&Crafts, Mission Style, folk art
Up for sale today is a one of a kind table runner. This was purchased from the estate of the original owner apx 20 years ago. My understanding is that it was made in the 1910's- 20's for the mans wife. This is hand crafted one of a kind item. The background is green suede. The condition is very good shows very little if any wear the colors are still very bright. It measures apx 42" long and 21" wide. I used this on top of a Mission Style Oak Buffet. The Silver Studio was established in Hammersmith. London in 1880 by Arthur Silver(1853-1896) and primarily produced designs for wallpaper and textiles for a large range of manufacturers but particularly Liberty and Co. Warner& Sons and G.P& J Baker and became enormously successful. Harry Napper(born 1867 in Spaxton. Somerset) joined the studio in about ... more1891 and his style favoured oval flower forms and swirling upward growths and he was very much influenced by Aubrey Beardsley.He produced a number of designs for Liberty and it is interesting that he named a number of patterns after West Country towns. Perhaps because of his Somerset roots.On the death of Arthur Silver,Napper took over the management of the studio in 1896. The Studio also produced commissioned book cover designs for Blackie& Son Ltd based in Scotland. Interestingly. Arthur Silver was born in Reading and his family had an upholstery business in the centre of town, as did at the same time co incidentally, the grandfather and father of Talwin Morris(1865-1911) Art Manager at Blackie& Son Ltd which is worthy of more research and may explain the relationship between the two companies. It would be interesting to know how many Blackie books were designed by the Studio.Harry Napper died in Clapham. London in 1930. The book is complete and no pages are missing. Art Nouveau or Arts & Crafts Style Metal Card Box
I purchased this at auction. I thought it was neat. Decorated in an Arts& Crafts/ Art Nouveau style with the leaves across the top with a loop to help open the box held on with a bracket and round fasteners. I don't understand how they are held on. All metal. Measures 9" long x 3 1/4" wide x 1 3/8" tall. No marks. Inside: 4 slots for cards? Tray for pens when open? The problem with this is if it is real, it's a treasure. If it is a reproduction, I can see it too. It has smeared patina, looks like sand in the bottom interior, rust in and out, looks like old paint scraped off with years of being in a cellar or garage shelf. Classic Camark Art Pottery Flower Vase Arts & Crafts Mission Style Matte Rose
Featured in this auction is a really beautiful. Vintage Camark flower vase. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. This piece is identified as shape#411, a paneled vase with carved"ornaments" on two sides that extend down to the base. It is 4-1/4" tall, 2-1/2" wide at the base and about 4-1/2" wide at the shoulder. The base of the pottery is stamped CAMARK with the"1st block letter" impressed die stamp. This stamp dates the piece from the late 1920's to the early 1930's. The base was also ground to level the piece. The vase has a beautiful arts and crafts form with the art deco decoration and multiple panels encircling it. This thick, gorgeous glaze is a matte rose color that has curdled on parts of the vase, including inside the rim, giving it a soft ... moreglow. This is a fabulous piece from the arts and crafts era. There is also evidence of glaze pinholes, miniscule dimples and interior scratches, but it is still relatively clean. Check out all 8 photos! This is a beautiful brass vase. Possibly continental, with typical Glasgow Rose pattern alternating with a stylised Secessionist influenced design. It is in excellent, clean and, apart from a couple of tiny"dings" in the neck, undamaged condition. Height 35cm. The only mark I can make out on the base is what appears to be a"P" in the centre; I have not attempted to clean the base up to find any other lighter impressions. I am not a dealer but a collector; we have had this vase for about 12 years and are now changing around our Arts& Crafts/ Nouveau collection. The painting only measures 12 1/4 inches high by 9 inches across and with the newer 1990s frame 20 inches by 17 inches. The painting is signed by the artist in the lower left corner. For condition there is a little bit of age/ light toning though the painting is supposed to be dark with shadows with all the trees blocking the light. c1900 arts & crafts art nouveau WAS benson style brass desk lamp reading lamp
A nice quality arts& crafts WAS Benson style brass adjustable desk or reading lamp. The lamp has a triform base with nicely shaped legs terminating in pointed feet. One leg extends outwards and loops over which would have been designed to hang from something. There is also a pierced hole which could allow the lamp to be hung like a wall lamp. The shaft is a simple baluster in brass with a turned knop to the top. The later replacement bulb socket is fitted to a brass hinged bracket which is secured via a screw and a wing screw to each side. When loosened, this allows the light to be adjusted to varying angles to suit. A shade could be fitted to the socket. There are what appear to be initials to one foot(pictured) which could be IS or TS or a number 18, i am unsure as to be exact. The lamp has some surface marks and scratches and some ... moreold lacquer in places but it has a polished finish and looks really nice. With socket vertical the lamp measures 10 inches in height. No repairs, splits or other damage. A good decorative and functional piece of original arts& crafts lighting.

Which looks to be hand thrown judging by the rings under the glaze, uses as its palette a bright orange glaze with a contrasting rich brown. The cabachon detail is glazed in yellow/green with the same brown as the base dripping down from each raised section. The vase comes in very good condition with only a very tiny glaze chip at the rim. They were discoloured but came up beautiful when I cleaned them making me think they could be S ilver Plate or maybe Pewter. Arts and Crafts/Art nouveau carved framed plaque of a Mucha style muse
A genuine late Victorian Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau period carved framed plaque of a muse in the manner of Mucha. This a rare example of a wood composite moulded plaque made of compressed exotic hardwood shaving which can be seen on the back of the back. Flaking slightly. The moulded wood face has a fine polished finish to it. I have never seen this type of product before but it is likely to be a"patent" Victorian method of manufacturer for producing a quality finished product without the expense of wood carving. The frame appears to be of solid carved wood but is probably produced by the same method. I would appreciate any information about this product.

Classic Camark Art Pottery Green Flower Vase Arts & Crafts Mission Style #202
Featured in this auction is a beautiful. Vintage flower vase made by Camark Pottery. The finish is a combination of matte glazes with an underglaze of deep ocean green and a paler blue overdrip. This glaze effect on the vase is stunning and gives the piece a true arts and crafts feel to it. The vase has two embellishments that give the effect of ringed handles. This early piece is not marked, but it is identified in the Collector's Guide to Camark Pottery reference book by Gifford as shape#202. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips. No cracks, no crazing and no repairs; however, it is obvious that the piece was gently used because of the numerous stray marks, scratches and scuffs, both inside and out, that are present. They are not nearly as obvious on the actual piece as they appear in the enlarged photos. The base shows the ... morebeautiful glaze drip where the bottom was ground to level the jar. The interior shows puddling of the thick glaze, and there are no other production imperfections to note. The piece measures 4-1/2" tall and about 5-1/4" wide at the handles. Check out all 8 photos!
