This is a beautifully made. Very heavy French gilt bronze photo frame from the 19 th century. It looks very architectural to me– like a gable with a pediment. The bronze has been very deeply sculpted with great detail. There are lion’s heads along the sides and intricate design work all around. Leg stand rotates. The piece at the back unscrews to insert a photo. One of the screws appears to be stuck but would be easy to replace or repair. At the center of the crown. A bit of the gold has worn away revealing the bronze underneath. Displayed on its own or as part of a grouping. It will add grace and charm to any room. I read that these carved wood frames also have plaster/gesso, which this looks to by the photos. The interior dimension(the'shelf' that holds the painting) is 19" x 13.5" so you would lose about.5 inch from that in the viewable area. The external dimension is 30.5" x 25" The carvings project/protrude approx 3.5" depth) It would be ideal if you could pick it up. Antique Large VICTORIAN Walnut Heavy Picture Frame Civil War Era 1860s 22 x 26
Here is a very large. Quite heavy antique walnut picture frame, circa 1860s. It measures 29 x 33 ins. in total size, and the insert rabbet for your art or mirror is 22 3/16 x 26 3/16, a 22 x 26 item should fit fine in here. The molding is about 4 ins. wide and it is a deep well with painted black ebonized lines on the surround. The frame is in FAIR as is antique condition, with some minor scrapes, scratches, some inner gilt gesso chipped off the slip liner, some black ebonized lines wearing away, and some miter corner separations. It is fairly sturdy, but could be stabilized further by re-gluing. It has a bit of old whitish paint at one side back corenr, unseen from the front and coudl probably be cleaned off if it bothers you. Please be aware this frame is approx. 1t is about 150+ years old. So will not be perfect like a new repro one. Antique Victorian bronze reef? Civil war reef? Beautiful and heavy!
Up for your consideration I have a vintage antique bronze reef. I have done some research on it but could not find anything similar to it. I am not sure if it is Victorian. Civil war era or something else? it weights approximately 3 1/2 lbs and the measurements are approx 14" in length by 6" in width. the thickness is approximately 1" at the widest part. It appears to have been a part of something else. At the bottom of it it looks like a screw is lodge inside of it and on the top side of the reef around 10AM and 2pm it looks like a hole was drilled for a screw. On the ribbon itself there are also 2 screw holes. One of them also has a screw lodge in it. It is a truly beautiful bronze reef naturally tarnish green in some area. Antique VICTORIAN Fancy COMPO Gesso GILDED Gold Heavy Frame 12 x 15 c 1850-60s
Here is a beautiful antique Victorian picture frame. Circa 1850-60s time period, with compo floral accents and rope decoration on the surround. This used to house a antique chromolithograph. It measures 15 5/8 x 18 1/2 ins. in total, and the insert rabbet size is 12 x 15 ins. The frame is in FAIR as is vintage condition with some chipped compo off the top right, and bottom left corners. Also some chips to middle bottom rope compo.It has some spotting on the gilded( lemon gold) inner liner, and further scrapes on the surround. All pretty common with compo/gesso frames from this time period. It is still heavy and sturdy. Perfect for a antique landscape. VTG Antique Picture Frame-Heavy Metal-Brass/Bronze color 11 1/4 by 8 1/4 USA
There is no name on the metal frame it is in great shape. It does look like the stand piece in the back has probably been replaced because it is black and looks newer but still made from the same type of metal. The lady is sitting/reclining in a chair watching a butterfly. Very decorative with flowers and ornate design. I purchased this in 1981 or 82 at an antique store in Branford. Fla. for my Mother-in-law who loves antiques. The white stuff on the back of the frame is glue from the tape she used. The inside of the frame is 5 1/4 in. by 3 1/2 in. opening. The frame does have a metal piece that helps it to stand. Very heavy. There is no glass to go inside the frame but it does have a clear thick piece of plastic that was used. The plastic is in good shape.

The frame is in excellent condition and would once have been gilded; however. The original finish has virtually disappeared, with just little scraps of the original colour clinging to the frame. M. Eugene Boucher formed the company in 1862 and by 1892. It had become a public limited company so, this frame will date between 1862 and 1892. The name of the company is impressed at the top of the frame and at the bottom it is marked Deposee Fumay. Fumay being the town where the foundry was situated. Antique Victorian St. Valentine Print Polish in 19x25 Heavy Walnut Wood Frame
This auction is for an antique St. Valentine print in a great walnut victorian frame. The frame is probably worth more than the print actually. Bottom of the print says St. Valentine in Polish and what I think is French. The outside dimensions of the frame measure 19.5" x 25" x 2" thick. The visible picture size is 14" x 19.5" The print has great gold printing around the borders. Print appears to be lightly way but doesn't look to have any moisture damage. The frame only has light wear. he back of the frame is a wood panel. Definitely old. I think the print and frame likely date to the late 1800's. The frame compliments the print so well. Antique Heavy Wood Frame with Reverse Paint Glass Black/Gold Mat
This is a fabulous antique solid wood frame. The original glass has a painted black and gold mat applied on the backside of the glass. The frame measures 31" by 24.25" and weighs 12 pounds. The inside area that shows inside the glass mat measures 16.5" by 10.75" The overall condition is good. There are pieces of the tiny sawtooth plaster design missing on the inside edge of the frame.
