The silver is further chased with surface details. This was likely made in a Southeast Asian Buddhist country, perhaps Burma, Malaysia or Thailand. The silver is unmarked, but tests as solid silver. The faux tortoiseshell has a good translucency, and retains an excellent polish. This napkin ring measures 4.2 cm in width and 2.8 cm in height. It weighs 12 grams. Up for auction is a vintage antique Victorian era pine hand painted faux finish deep well picture frame recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It will accommodate a 6" x 8" picture. The overall size of this piece is approximately 10 1/2" x 12 1/2" This frame is set up to hang horizontally. But it can be turned to hang vertically as well. Large antique faux grained picture frame from the Victorian era(late 1800s) The frame fits an approx 24 1/8 x 29 5/8 inch print or painting. Its exterior dimensions are approx 29 1/2 x 35 inches and it is 3/4 inches high. The frame is in very good condition. But still has a few dings and scratches as typically seen on frames of this age. The finish on it is original, the shiny lustre seen in the photos is a fresh coat of linseed oil, not polyurethane. The frame is being shipped without glass.

But there is an area of missing faux graining in the center of the bottom of the frame as shown on the 2nd photo. Old Antique 19th Century Picture Frame Faux Painted
Beautiful layered antique picture frame with faux-marble effect! This was made with 3 separate layers and has a wonderful deep quality that will showcase any photo or artwork that you choose. It is mostly painted in a faded gold paint. With the middle section painted to look like marble in darker browns, reds and orange tones. A lovely unique piece that has a little damage all around but could be fixed with some touching up. This is a solid piece and is still tightly held together. Up for auction is this wonderful Oval Gesso Bubble glass picture frame with a faux grey marble finish with little rose flowers on the tops and sides. The picture is of a black and white(yellowish color) with some green grass. It measures 19 ¼” tall and 16” wide. The picture is of a woman in front of an old farm house. The frame and picture are in great shape with normal wear from use and age but no major damage that I can see. Most likely they are gesso over wood and then faux grained to look like wood. They are very dark so there is not a lot of detailing in the"wood" itself. Appears to be some early repairs but hard to tell because of the crazing of the gesso/faux wood. Each frame is heavy so hence the attribution to these being gesso covered wood. ANTIQUE EASTLAKE CARVED FAUX MARBLE 3-TIER WOOD PICTURE FRAME Circa 1800's
This is a lovely. Antique Eastlake frame dating from 1860- 1890 and it is in very good condition. Even the glass appears to be authentic with slight waves& a few tiny bubbles. The overall measurements are 14" wide and 16" tall and 3.25" deep. The interior print/ photo window is 8" by 10" Construction on this lovely 3-tier frame: ~ Outer- Solid Walnut with a thin gilt groove along entire front top surface. The walnut is beveled and 2" deep. ~ Middle- Multi- beveled; gilted level and a black/ gilt cross hatch design level. Total 1" depth. ~ Inner- 1/2" of beveled. Black wood, 1" of faux marble(deep green) etched on each corner with stem of flowers. Then the inner most liner is gentle bevel of gilt/ gold. There is overall patina. Commensurate with age, which adds to the antique value. There is ... morealso one, approximately 1" surface scrape along the left top back edge- barely noticeable and hidden behind a rolled walnut bevel. As for the print and backing- A lovely lady portrait in Victorian finery. The back(wall side) is covered in soft green felt. 10.5" by 12.75" which appears newer and professionally added at a later date. Along with a sawtooth hanger. Antique Faux Hammered Copper Wooden Frame - Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, Art Deco
Measuring about 16¼" x 10¼" And featuring a faux hammered copper look and early 20th century decorative details, this frame is made of wood painted with gold leaf or goldtone paint. At the top center(at least with the top the way I've pictured it) the hammered copper look gives way to a decorative pressed pattern of arches and vines. I'll let you judge for yourselves, but in my opinion the hammered copper look is an Arts& Crafts feature, while the vines are more Art Nouveau and the domed lines of the arches are Art Deco. The window opening is about 13½" x 7½" For hanging it looks like someone once turned it upside down- with the arches hanging down like swags- and tried using a single nail through the top center. The frame measures 9" by 11" and the opening measures 7" by 9" This is a wooden frame with a faux wood finish with a strong dark grain that resembles rosewood. This was done with a feather sometimes. My father called it feather graining.slighting moving the feather back and forth while moving through the paint. The photo displayed is what came with the frame when we bought it- a tinted sepia photo of a young man circa 1930. He is sporting a flashy tie and his slicked hair was the height of style in the period. The glass is probably original and in good condition. There are a few white marks on the frame's surface where there is a little crazing but nothing major or distracting.
