This is an old early 1900s unusual wood frame on a platform pedestal from an old estate. The frame entirety is 15" by 1o 1/2" and has glass that measures 7" by 9" on front. It has its original bronze finish with red roses on the corner hand painted. It has its original photograph inside and old backing. The only thing I see to note is a tiny 1/8" wide by 1 1/2" long paint sliver missing that somebody touched up top center edge. See closeup. This is a wonderful frame and you should love it. Vintage & Antique 3 Oval Wood Picture Frames Lot Victorian Edwardian Civil War
The three frames in this lot are all vintage with the one that is painted gold probably a little newer. The gold one measures 11 1/2 inches x 9 1/2 inches x 3/4 inch deep with the opening measuring 9 1/2 inches x 7 1/2 inches. It has glass that fits and a wood backing. There is an old paper matting that has discoloration and staining. The other two are older frames and are constructed the same. They are a little different in size. The larger one measures overall 13 3/4 inches x 11 3/4 inches x 1 1/4 inches deep with the inside opening being 9 1/8 inches x 7 1/8 inches. The smaller one measures 13 1/4 inches x 11 1/4 inches x 1 1/8 inch deep with the inside opening being 9 1/8 inches x 7 1/8 inches. The gold inner ring on them is actually a metal ring. Probably brass, it shows darkened spots and a couple of minor dents. I did not try to clean ... moreor polish the metal. Both of these frames have separation where the original joints are. There is a spot where a chip of wood is gone. Both of the frames seem to be solid and I don't know if the joints can be pulled back together and glued or if they can be filled and colored in some way. Both of the frames have glass and a wood backing. All the frames come without points or nails to put them together with the glass and back. So the new owner will need to supply same. Please take a good look at the pictures, I tried to show where the separation at the joints are. There are pictures that follow. Feel free to ask questions. The only thing I did to these was wipe off the dust and dirt with a damp cloth, otherwise they come to you as I got them and may need further cleaning. There are two shipping options offered to please check both. I try to describe accurately but it is always possible I missed something so please look at the pictures. The metal is somewhat thin and it is rather lightweight. The metal seems to be gilded. The frame is made of stamped tin that is painted gold- very easy access with the four tabs on the back. Soldered to the top of the oval is a molded soft metal(probably lead) bow decoration and a 12" length of heavy chain for hanging. The photograph is from the era and was in the frame when we bought it. No name or identification on the back unfortunately but she is a sweet-faced young woman with a"Gibson Girl" hair style. She is posed amidst billowing yards of white tulle with a shell cameo brooch gathering some of the abundant fabric. The glass is old and in good condition. There is one little split in the lead on the left loop of the decorative ... morebow but it's an unnoticeable flaw.
