Antique 22" x 17" Dark Black Wood Picture Frame with Gold Leaf Gilt Border 1890
This is one of the most attractive antique frames that I have on ebay right now. It is a simple frame but I find it to be a really beautiful frame. This frame is from around the 1890s and is mostly a dark black with a bright gold leaf inside border. The rabbet measures about 22" x 17" Each side of the frame measures about 1 3/8" wide. On the side of the frame near one of the corners. There is a good sized chip(measuring about 1" x 1/4" and a crack extending from that chip. However, this damage does not effect the structural integrity of the frame and it not visible when the frame is hanging on the wall as it is on the side of the frame. Because you can't see it, I would still say this frame is still in very good condition. This frame is really gorgeous. Description This antique dark walnut criss cross picture frame measures 16" long. 14" wide and holds a 10" long, 8" wide picture. The frame has crosses at each corner decorated with white porcelain and brass tacks or buttons. There is a liner of gilded gesso around the picture. The frame is holding a black cut out silhouette of a rooster against a tan background. The frame has a replaced wood backing and also has glass over the silhouette which is probably not original to the frame. The piece is in very nice condition with no major losses on the wood and no damage to the porcelain buttons. The gilding has dark spots but is original. You will notice on the photos that the frame has two different carved designs on it. I'm not sure of its age. So I don't know if it is an antique or not. The very inside edge is covered in gold. It would make a beautiful frame for that special painting or photograph. A real find!

Antique American Empire Picture Frame 1800's Casting with Dark Brown Wood Veneer
Large frame 30" high x 20" wide. I believe this is from the early 1800's as it appears to be a casting covered in wood veneer. Simple fruit design. Wood on the back with small steel nails. I cannot see any signatures on the frame. There are bits of very old paper stuck to the front.

You are viewing two antique frames with glass that are dark green with gold details along the edge and on the inner framing. Sizes are 6" X 11" inside 5 1/2" by 10" and 5 3/4" X 8 3/4" inside 5" by 6 1/2" Because these are old there is some paint chipping that adds to the look of the frames and does not take from the value.
