Gutta-percha case is in good condition. Some wear can be noted in photos. Brass hook and catch are in working order. daguerreotype( image is clear, glass in intact. gilt colored tin frame surrounds likeness of young female. opposite side of folding case is padded and line with embossed velvet. This is a very old family piece. I am not an expert and have described it to the best of my ability. I am happy to answer questions and usually ship within 24 hours.

Excellent c1860 Victorian water gilded ogee frame. Beautiful bright water gilded surface with ogee form and stepped molding to site edge. Square nailed. Mitered corners and unpainted sides. Antique Silver Leaf Gilt Lemon Gold Frame – Circa 1860
This is a great old frame in very good condition. It measures 14” by 11” inches on the outside and the site size(inside measurements) are 10 ½” by 7 ½” and it is 1 7/8” wide. It’s got great gold color and a nice shine. Its yellower than it looks in the pictures as it’s hard to get the right color due to the reflective nature of the frame. There is normal aging and very little chipping. You will be very pleased with this frame as its the real thing not painted gold like many of the others you see on ebay! Antique 1860 Black Forest Carved Wood Picture Frame French Empire Regency 21x16
This incredible early to middle 1800s all wood frame is crisply carved of dark wood(cherry? with its original lemon gold ogee fillet and measures 26 ¾” x 21 ¾” overall with 21” x 16” reveal. It never had a back rabbet: applied moldings determine the back opening. Currently the modern molding describes a back opening of 22 ¾” x 17 5/8” But can easily be reduced. The surface of the frame bristles with confidently rendered foliate details with crossed ribbons and leaf elements at the corner. The carving appears to be Swiss or Black Forest to me, in the late Empire or neo-classical manner. It has lapped construction at the corners and dry, dark original surface on the face. Antique Adirondack Victorian Folk Art Carved Picture Frame L. Lang 1860 Print
This is a charmer in so many ways. For both the frame and print. The frame is rustically carved wood, a late Victorian piece with definite folk art leanings. Inside is a terrifically evocative print of a young girl toiling over the laundry tub, her doll nearby on a spindle bed, a tea set on the table. She is dressed in a short skirt with bloomers peeking out, stockings and lace-up boots. An apron and scarf complete the look. It is signed L. Lang 1860. The frame looks to accommodate a 7 inch by 9 inch print. The frame itself is 9 inches by 11 inches and measures 13 inches by 15 inches with the extensions. There is a bit of wear, especially evident on the upper left extension as shown in the photos. Also, the gold inner frame has some wear, mostly along the top.

OLDER VERSION OF THE ONE BEING OFFERED FOR SALE. A walnut. Rustic piece with a decorated inner molding is from the 1860s. This is a rare frame because of the decoration on the gilded area. A naturalist movement was beginning in the art world in the mid-1860s and this design was supposed to represent pebbles at the bottom of a stream. The style was gone by the end of the 1860s. It is 12 1/2" x 11"od. Being offered for sale is the later version of the one shown above. Late 1860's-1875 which is when the Melainotype(Tintype) picture was taken and framed. 1875 Albert Mosher Native Nova Scotia) This later version frame doesn't have the pebbles design. Also notches were added to the corners and were changed to different areas around this larger frame. It comes with the original backing and Photo. This is an excellent. Large c1860 silver gilded Victorian ogee frame. Frame has the original silver gilded surface with excellent patina. Square nailed, mitered corners. Frame is in great condition with some minor losses and expected corner shrinkage. Frame measures 21 x 30 with a 17 x 26 rabbet. Great looking period frame. Silver gilds are much more difficult to find. A nice sampler sized frame that can easily be resized. Pl ease email with any questions. Check my feedback and bid with confidence. 3 ANTIQUE GEORGIAN ERA FAMILY 1860-70's IMAGES CONVEX GLASS VELVET FRAMES
This is a set of 3 images of what appears to be a family of a mother. Father& child. I am not certain if the images are photos or something else. There are papers in between the backs& images dating to the 1860-70's. They don't really look like photographs up close. The glass is convex and curves out. The two parents frames are approx. 6" tall and 4.75" wide, and the child's is 5.25" tall X 4.25" wide. When I removed the backs it appears as though the images may smear if they were handled much. I have no idea who the family may be, but they were purchased in Wisconsin.
