Up for offering is an antique 8" x 10" Adirondack wood branch picture frame with a winter scene oil painting on artist board signed R K Hart. Has the original wavy glass and the original rough sawn wood picture backing while antique square nails hold the original inner and outer frames together. The frame looks to be hand carved. Has some chips and paint loss on the inner gold frame borders. There is also a split in the inner frame border on the back side where the original square nail ties to the outer frame. The frame looks to be in excellent condition with great patina. Has some layered dust in the frame groves which shows it's age.

c 1871 Antique Adirondack Wood Criss Cross Miniature Picture Frame FRENCH & CO
Purchased at an estate auction: For your consideration is an antique Adirondack style criss cross miniature picture frame. The entire frame measures 5 1/4" x 5" The inner opening is about 2 1/8 x 3 1/2" It has an embossed Victorian card under the glass. On the back are two embossed stamps on the cardboard. One is stamped Trade Boston Mark, in a star. The other is B. French Co. Boston, Sole Gents, with June 27, 1871, in the center. I note no damage to the frame, itself. The cardboard backing exhibits wear, and I note chippage on the edge of the glass. That is covered by the frame. It also needs a tack at the bottom so the picture and glass do not slide out.
