20th Century 800 German Silver Pierced Picture Frame
This German 800/1000 silver picture frame has a pierced frame and a wooden back panel and stand. The frame is marked 800 and there is a hallmark that is half visible that appears to read" 193FI" but we are not sure. Picture size is 3.5" Wide and 5" High. Measurements: The frame is 7& 5/8" tall and 6" wide Condition: The silver frame is in fine conditon except for the top of the wooden back panel that has some breaks on the top two corners. see photo 3 and 40 These breaks do not hinder the back panel from holding a picture in the frame. Also. The glass that fits into the frame has chips on its corners but they in no way weaken the glass and are not visible when the glass is inserted into the frame.

Large Gilded Wood Frame, American, Early 20th century, Arts and Crafts
Auction description The simplicity of this large. Early 20th century American frame reflects the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement. The lovely wood grain remains visible through the gilding and is part of the intended effect. I am estimating date of manufacture as 1900-1920. This one will work most effectively with the right painting, watercolor, or print. Dimensions are about 14.5 inches by 17.5 inches. With a picture opening of about 10.6 inches by 13.5 inches. This is an antique early 20th century Arts and Crafts or Art Deco decorative frame with a later matt. I would date it 1920s or 1930s. Overall. The frame measures 13 1/4 inches by 17 1/4 inches(33.66 cm x 43.82 cm) The back opening size is 12 inches by 16 1/8 inches(30.5 cm x 40.96 cm) The molding width measures 13/16 inches(2.06 cm) I initially thought this was a handcarved frame. But as I kept staring at it I came to the conclusion it is composition attached to the base wood. But it sure does look handcarved! The thin flat part of the front of the frame has noticeable light wear all along it. Please see photos) The decorative composition part is in very good condition. Though it does have that same type of wear. It also has a few very tiny nicks on the inner edge. But they're not very noticeable. This is a very handsome burl wood and golden oak frame. The main section is a great looking burl wood veneer and the inner and outer sections are golden oak. I would date it late 1890s to approximately 1910. Overall. It measures 15 3/8" x 18 3/8" 39.05 cm x 46.67 cm) The back opening size is 12 1/8" x 15 1/8" 30.8 cm x 38.42 cm) The molding width measures 1 7/8" 4.76 cm) This frame is in very good condition. Except for one area where there is a 1" x 1/8" mark and a few minor nicks. The veneer looks great(Please see photo) It doesn't have any glass. It's developed a very beautiful. Warm patina. 20th C Vintage Mid-Century 6.5 x 9 wood beaded wood frame
Up for auction is a vintage ca 1940's 1950's 6.5 x 9" wood frame with glass and vertical hanger recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. There are small losses to the beading and edges. The vertical hanger on top is still very good condition. The glass is not bubble glass so we put this in the 40's or 50's. This is a very cool looking antique early 20th century gold gilt portrait frame. I would date it somewhere from the teens to the 1920s. Overall. It measures 29 1/2 inches x 34 3/8 inches(75 cm x 87.3 cm) The back opening size is 25 1/4 inches x 30 1/8 inches inches(64.1 cm x 76.5 cm) The molding measures 2 3/8 inches wide(6 cm) I'll start by saying that the color of this frame is actually a nicer. Richer, more golden color than the photos are showing. They are tending to be a little shinier than the actual frame. You'll be very pleasantly surprised when you see it. You can see the lines from the gold gilding throughout the frame. Over the years. It has worn off in areas, and the red bole comes through. As you can see in the photos. There are a lot of marks on the frame. I believe this was intentionally done when the frame was made, ... morebecause they're all over the entire frame. Personally, I think they look great. This frame must've been made by a very skilled FrameMaker. The corners are held together with splining inside(please see photo) On the back. There is some light writing that says#9266– C, I believe. There is some other light writing but I can't quite make it out. There is no glass. It weighs 6 lbs. 8 oz. 2.95 kg) I think you'll be very impressed with this frame and its great patina. 20th Century Silver Picture Frame Metal Gilt 36 x 36 Ogee Profile Late 20th C.
For your consideration a silver metal leaf modernist style frame. Unknown maker but probably 25- 30 years old. I purchased it in a grouping from a estate sale at an artist's home. Measures 36-1/8 x 36-1/8 inches inside dimensions. Over all outside dimension is 39 x 39. The molding is about 2 inches deep by 1-3/4 wide with a 1 inch + rabbit depth. The condition is not like new and I have not cleaned it. It has wear from age and handling throughout. Previous owner did some silver paint touch up in a few spots and it blends nicely. There are some nicks. Scrapes, and wear through the gilt, and tarnish. The corners are tight, though there is evidence of surface cracks at the joints. In my opinion all the loses give it nice character of age. It is made of bass wood and it is stiff and straight with no warping. It has a great look suitable for ... moremodern art requiring silver gilt. Also nice square size to use with or without a liner. This is a lovely gold gilt. Hand carved Italian frame from the early 20th century. The interior of the frame(with the glass) measures 10 3/4" by 13" and the outside of the frmae measures 16" by 14" not including the top crest. A very talented, old world carved piece, the back shows the early handwork and detail. The picture inside is included and is pencil signed and inscribed, but is unfortunately unreadable. Basket of flowewrs motiff on top and carved corner cartouches, and pierced carved edges make this piece an outstanding example. There is a piece of missing gilt trim, definitely repairable if desired, or it can be left alone depending on the preference of the buyer. Top quality, early frame for whatever you decorative need. This is a very pretty antique early 20th century lemon gold gilt frame. It dates circa 1900 to 1920. Overall it measures 17 1/2 inches x 21 3/4 inches(44.5 cm x 55.3 cm) The back opening size is 14 1/8 inches x 18 3/8 inches(35.9 cm x 46.7 cm) The molding measures 2 inches wide(5.1 cm) This is not one of the 19th-century lemon gold frames you usually find. But still a high quality piece. You can see the lines of gilding on it. It has some of those great old dots and lines that you find on these gilded frames. One of the long outer sides of the frame is darker than the other three sides. It was probably the top side when hanging on the wall. Each of the corners has a partial circular line on it.
