Antique Italian Late 18th Early 19th Century Gold Gilded Carved Frame
This is an antique Italian late 18th or early 19th century gold gilded carved frame. Overall. It measures 23 7/8 inches x 17 1/2 inches(60.64 cm x 44.45 cm) The back opening size is 20 1/2 inches x 14 1/8 inches(52.07 cm x 35.88 cm) The molding measures 2 3/8 inches wide(6.03 cm) I have to say. This is one great-looking frame. However. It does have a few flaws. Mostly, there are about a dozen spots where the gold is chipped off. This will need some type of retouching. On the bottom piece of the molding there is a 1/4 inch round piece of gold missing also(64 cm) There are also a few tiny nicks on it. But they are simply age-related for an antique frame. On the back of the frame. Someone wrote in pencil many years ago Tuscan School 18th century. There is also an odd piece of cork along the bottom piece of the molding in the rear. Along the ... moretop and to the side there are numbers written which I believe signify the frame came from a museum and was deaccessioned at one point. Along the top molding in the rear there is a triangle shape with three holes in it where I believe there was one of the early handwrought hooks that are found in frames of this age. Antique 18th/19th Century Inlaid Table Frame
This is a fabulous little wooden frame. The front has natural birds-eye in the grain of the wood veneer. The rim is a micro-mosaic of tiny inlaid blocks(none missing) The only flaw. Shown in the photo, is a lost portion of the veneer just inside the arc of the picture rim. The frame measures 3 3/4 inches by 4 inches. The interior circular opening is 2 1/8 inches in diameter. The triangle-shaped leg at the back is attached with a tiny brass hinge, and there are three tiny brass brackets attached with tiny screws at the back. It is unsigned. There are no other flaws. It probably held a hand-painted portrait on paper or other natural substance at one time. There is no glass insert. You are bidding on a beautiful antique picture frame. This frame measures 8 x 8 1/2" with a 4 3/4 x 5 1/4" opening. Original glass; cut nails holding the backing board in place; original brass loop hangers; gold golding; original patina. The print is of a woman in 18th century attire. Very good condition with surface wear. As shown.

IN ORIGINAL AS FOUND UN VARNISHED MAHOGANY HAND CARVED PICTURE FRAMES.ONE IS A SPLIT PICTURE FRAME WITH FLOWER MOTIF AND THE OTHER HAS FLEUR DES LIS ON IT. BOTH ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND THE SPLIT FRAME HAS ORIGINAL GLASS.THE TAPE YOU SEE IN THE PICS ID HOLDING THE GLASS AND THE INSERT IN PLACE.THESE FRAMES HAD HAND PAINTED BOTANY PICS IN THEM DATED 1750s ORIGINALLY.THE BOTANY PRINTS WERE DAMAGED.SPLIT FRAME IS 12 X 13.5 INCHES WITH PICTURE HOLE OF 51/8 X 91/2 INCHES.THE OTHER FRAME IS 12 X 10 INCHES WITH PICTURE HOLE OF 7 1/4 INCHES BY 9 1/8 TH INCH.NO SPLITTING AND ARE SOLID MAHOGANY. 18th CENTURY FRENCH GILT FRAMED PERIOD RUSSIAN PRINT OF THE WINTER PALACE
For your pleasure is a early 18 th century to mid 19 th century Landscape. Russian origin. The print is in fine condition with a slight discolouration in the center this is due to the fact that it is from a small edition of Lithographs printed in Russia. I do know that it was a present to a friend of an emigré and that the frame is original to the period even though it appears to be of French origin. It is gilt still very much intact. The problems are the corners as this is such a nice period piece it would be well worth it to have it restored as the prices for period frames is to-day very high. I was told that it was re matted in the 1970's. The frame measures 16.5 inches by 13.75 inches. Please see the accompanying photos. And feel free to ask questions, thanks.
