The frame is 14" wide. 16" tall and about 3" deep and the portrait is about 5" X 7" The picture is triple matted. The portrait looks a lot like Lincoln but I have no idea who he is. The glass looks original with a few bubbles if you hold it just right. The back looks original with the old nails and a string that looks like it may be original also. The frame has 4 step downs. The first is the outside frame, 2nd is the gold, third is the black with a beautiful gold design and fourth is the gold design. It is in overall very good condition. It shows age appropriate wear but I do not see any cracks. Chips or breaks. There is some gold bleed over in a couple of places but nothing distracting. Beautiful Antique Oval 16 7/8 X 14 7/8 Picture Frame
This is a beautiful antique oval wood picture frame measuring 16 7/8 X 14 7/8 inches. The picture area of the frame measures 10 inches by 12 inches. The wood used in the frame is very interesting with various differentiations of wood tones. The frame has some minimal damage as shown in the pictures. The picture that is currently in the frame is quite nice. Being of a fine lady looking in the mirror with her reflection looking back at her. I know nothing about the picture, but it appears to be a painting and I detect some drying or crumbling around the outer edges of the painting. If you have any questions. ANTIQUE BAROQUE PICTURE FRAME w/PRINT OF BOY, 16-1/2" X 14" w/ 9" X 7" OVAL
This frame comes from an estate sale so not much is known about it. The print of a Victorian boy is attached to a 1 6-1/2" X 14" board and the 2-1/2" x 15" reticulated frame is mounted over it(screwed through the back of the large board into the back of the frame) and all of it is finished in gilt. The screws have come loose at the top but the bottom is holding tight. I don't know the age of the frame. It has some chips to the plaster coating in various spots. Some of the chips has been colored over with black to make them less obvious but it would look better with some gilt touch up. Needs some light repair but very interesting piece just as is. Please look at pictures to view damage etc. The print has some scuff/scratches on it. I'm not sure if you can take it apart to put in different art as the back board will ... morehave to be removed and the screws are hidden behind two pieces of wood attached to the back.
