It is only 2"tall and has a crude protrusion where the blowpipe was removed and the hole closed in. Oddly enough. It has an applied handle at the neck and an applied rim- the shape of this suggests an early nineteenth century date. There is a high kick in the base. The surface is slightly irridescent and heavily corroded and pitted as this piece has obviously been buried somewhere damp for many many years. There is no damage to the bottle other than this surface corrosion( which I think adds tremendously to its interest) A wonderful tactile object. On the inside close to the bottom it has a cracked glass rectangle piece with black writing"1887" Some of the pictures just shows a little of it. You have to hold it at sort of an angel to see it. I was told that this glass is linked to the Maclay Mansion in Harrisburg. Pa, but I have no way of knowing for sure. The purpose of this piece was for folks to place gifts of money into it for the newly wed couple. Afterwards, then it could be used as a vase by using the glass loops as a flower frog. The craftsmanship on this piece is truly extraordinary and this piece of art is even more impressive in person than in photo's. It feels heavy for size. So the glass may be leaded. The piece has no chips. Cracks, or repairs and measures approx. 5 1/8 inches tall x 2 7/8 inches across the rim. It has been in our family since the 1970s-80s. There is some minor spotting mainly on the inside of the bowl and on the top of the lip. Otherwise the goblet is in excellent condition with silvering that shines like polished chrome. The etched leaf and grape decoration encircles the bowl and is in excellent condition as well. The goblet has its original plug and glass disk seal. Note: The small circular spot you see in the first photo near the rim and a bit right of ... morecenter is a bubble that likely occurred when the glass was blown. There is a very similar basket pictured in the Pittsurgh Glass book. But it's impossible to give this guaranteed provenance. I do guarantee it is at least mid 19th century and it does have lead content and a ton of natural base rim wear from age that you like to see.a ton! Unfortunately it does have two hard to find cracks in the base on the inner edge area. One is about 1&1/2" long, the other about 3&1/2" There is also a crack through the top rim at a handle attachment, Otherwise fine and displays perfectly. This is a museum de accession with numbers on the rim and base. There is a rough pontil. A ntique Stiegel Type Green Tint Copper Wheel Engraved American Hand-Blown Flip Glass with Decorative Tulip and Ferns in Urn/ Basket Motif. Circa 1800s Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This beautiful antique Stiegel Type Flip Glass was found by me hidden in the rafters of a late 1800s house in New England. And was only wiped with a damp cloth to clean. Condition overall is excellent. Which I have tried to capture in the images. The pontil is rough cut, and the glass is a beautiful watery green tint and is moderately to very seedy with bubbles, one of which penetrated the surface during creation(see picture) It appears as a dimple in the surface as shown, and feels nearly smooth to the touch. I am not a glass expert, but I understand that this was not uncommon with this type of glass. Other than that, there are no breaks, cracks, or chips, ... morewhatsoever. Antique Victorian Hand Blown Glass POCKET WATCH HOLDER This is part of a collection of over 300 watch holders from a fine estate/antique watch& jewelry store in the Los Angeles area. The pocket watch shown is for display only and is NOT INCLUDED. This hand blown glass holder is designed to display the watch in the open position and does not have a clasp. One side of the glass has a great hand painted image of a boy on a pony. The rest of the piece is very highly detailed with a gold design with leaf motif. This measures approx. 2 5/8" in diameter. When held closed the two sides together make the piece 1 5/8" thick. This is in excellent condition with nice patina on the metal and some of the usual signs of wear seen on antique items. This includes some surface scratches or irregularities and/or discoloration on the metal. The ... moregold decoration appears to be mostly intact and the glass looks great. The white numbers are from the store and can be easily removed from the glass. Since computer monitors vary a little the color may be slightly different than you see it. This pair of pink lusters is each 10 inches high and 5 inches in diameter. The lusters have ruffled edges. They are made of Bristol glass and are from England. They are each adorned with 7 prisms. And have a gilded decoration around the edges. These are hand blown and date to the 19 th century. There is some wear to the gilding.
