Amethyst Mary Gregory Bed Side Glass Tumble-up Water Pitcher Decanter & Tumbler
Up for auction is this RARE Hand Blown Amethyst Mary Gregory Bed Side Glass Tumble-up Water Pitcher and Tumbler from the 1800's. Overall great condition with No chips. Cracks or hairlines still has great decoration with an Amethyst hue to the Mary Gregory decoration. I have always been told that these are called tumble-ups it is a water pitcher or decanter made to have the tumbler flipped upside down on top of the decanter to keep the fly's or bugs out at night and when you need a drink you just pour it drink it and put the tumbler back on top again. These where very popular during the mid 1800's to the early 1900's. This is one of the best Tumble-ups I have ever owned or seen it has the great Mary Gregory design on the decanter and the tumbler as you can see in the photo 1 design is of the boy the other is of the young girl ... moreboth with trees around them very detailed workmanship. The glass is a very fine thin hand blown glass with a deep pontil mark as shown in the photos and the tumbler has a very smooth flat bottom. The total height with the tumbler on the decanter is 7 3/8" tall the decanter only is 6 1/2" tall by 3 3/4" at the widest and the tumbler is 3 1/2" high by 2 1/2" wide. Has very faded silver bands around saucer. The silver band around the cup is mostly gone. Saucer is in very good condition. No chips or cracks. Cup has a small chip on the upper part of the foot. This is close to where the foot meets the body. It is hard to see. I missed it until I ran my finger over it. Saucer measures 5 7/8" in diameter. Cup is 2 1/2" tall. Thanks for looking. As always. NORTHWOOD CARNIVAL GLASS, GRAPE + CABLE, AMETHYST HATPIN HOLDER~~~
For Auction is a very nice piece of Carnival Glass made by The Northwood Glass Company of Wheeling. West Virginia. The Shape is known as a"Hatpin Holder" and it is done in the very popular"Grape and Cable" pattern. The Hatpin Holder stands 6 5/8" tall and is 2 3/4" in diameter at the feet. The top of the Hatpin Holder is 2 1/2" The Hatpin Holder is made from a beautiful base glass of Amethyst or Purple. The Iridescence is just beautiful. You can see deep rich Purple/Blue iridescence along with Fuchsia and Gold. The Hatpin Holder displays a very lovely Pattern of Raised Grapes and Leaves that hang from Vine that surrounds the piece. The Bunches of Grapes are large and plentiful. There are Leaves that separate these Vertical Clusters giving this piece some balance. The Veining in the Leaves is just outstanding. ... moreYou can also see the fine Stippling in the Leaves and this adds more Value to the piece. Just above these Vertical Leaves is a Band that surrounds the lower neck. These are grooves in the Band to simulate a Cable. Thus the name"Grape and Cable. The Vase is supported by 3 nicely applied Ribbed Spatula shaped feet. The Hatpin Holder is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks. Nicks, chips or dings. There is minor roughness on two of the feet. I believe this was caused when the Hatpin Holder was removed from the mold as the roughness is right on the seam. This is Not Damage and considered Factory made. This is a very nice Hatpin Holder with Strong Detail and good Iridescence. These were once Plentiful during the Victorian Era but a 100 years later they are seldom seen in this condition. The piece is signed with the underlined N in a circle Northwood mold mark. These were originally part of a Dresser Set for Ladies. I'm sure the buyer will be quite pleased with their purchase. This piece was made Circa 1910-1920. A Large Antique Victorian Black/Amethyst Glass Cat-c1880s.
This charming and rare Antique Victorian Glass Cat dates to around 1880 or thereabouts. I have sold miniature Victorian Cats similar to this before. But I have never seen this example. The Cat appears to be black. But when held to the light it looks more of an amethyst colour. It stands approximately 4 inches high and weighs around 178 grams. It is in lovely vintage condition overall. Although there are some signs of wear that are commensurate with age and use. This basically consists of chips to the ear tips. A shallow chip to the bottom edge and fleabite chips to the bottom edge. However. I find its condition very acceptable considering its age, and It will make a fine addition to any similar collection.

19th Century high quality hand blown amethyst glass personal wine jug/toby shape. In excellent condition with no scratches. Cracks or chips. The base has a large concave highly polished pontil base some remnant of patina to the base which i suspect has been polished. 5 1/8 inches tall x 5.25 inches handle to spout. HUGE TOP QUALITY VICTORIAN MARY GREGORY BLACK AMETHYST GLASS VASE15.5"
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR LOTS OF PHOTOS. This is a wonderful piece of Victorian enamelled glass. Unusual to have the original lid still. With excellent quality white enamelling in the'Mary Gregory' style. This is a spectacular display piece. No maker's marks to the glass, there is a squiggle to the base though. This vase dates to around 1880 or so. The vase and lid appear to be black, but Victorian black glass is always amethyst, and this is the darkest shade. With clever lighting you could show the amethyst through the white painted design. Condition is very good with no damage, but there is a small chip to the stopper bottom of the lid which is hiddedn when the stopper is in place. Measuring 15.5 inches(39cm) tall. Weight 600g. Wonderful quality.

You are bidding on a lovely set of 4 antique firing shot glasses in a deep amethyst glass. They are a distinct set of two pairs. One pair stands at 3 1/8 inches tall. The other pair stands at 3 inches tall. The taller ones have folded over rims, they are 2 3/4 inches across the top. The smaller ones are 2 1/2 inches across the top. All are in good condition with no damage of any kind and all have rough pontil marks. Ebay Listing Page Antique Bohemian Moser Enamel Painted Amethyst Glass Casket Jewelry Box Item Description: Up for auction is a beautiful antique Bohemian casket box manufactured during the late 1800s. The casket box is made of glass with brass over copper ormolu mounts. Four metal feet and rings on each side. The glass is a deep amethyst color with white enamel painted images featuring a large building on the edge of the water with mountains behind it. Floral garland accents the sides, and the edges of the glass are rounded. Overall the casket box measures approximately 3 5/8" in diameter and stands about 2 7/8" tall, and this is about as beautiful as they come in casket boxes! Item Condition: The overall condition of the casket box is excellent. It is very clean and there are no chips. Cracks, or repaired areas. The amethyst color ... moreis bold, and the enamel painted details show little to no loss or wear. The metal components could use a good polishing to really make them shine, but there is no damage. The hinges and clasp function as they should. There is standard rubbing and roughness on the bottom that you find on older glass. VICTORIAN 4 MASTER SALT CELLAR DIP PURPLE LAVENDER AMETHYST LILAC GLASS SET RARE
ESTATE PURCHASE. Information I recieved of age history-Late 1800's. These gorgeous salt dips were at one time clear. But over time of being exposed to ultra violet sun rays, causes the glass to turn purple, due to the manganese in the glass. The color of the salt dips is a subtle lavander or lilac in color. Gorgeous pattern, with little handles on each side, footed and scalloped edges. Measure approx. 2 3/8" in height, at the tallest point, 3 1/2" across, measured from end of handle to handle.
