It is 12 inches in diameter and is about 1/4 inches thick. It's owner said it was in perfect condition and had no damage or defect; however. When I showed it to an antique dealer, they found a very small chip on one of the teeth which I never would have seen if he hadn't pointed it out. I made several pictures so you could see the design as I am not familiar with antique glass. The woman who owned this platter is in her 90s and needing to dispose of items that have been in her family for many years. She said this belonged to her mother who came from Poland. An Antique Dresser/Calling Card Dish from the late 1800's. This dish is my Grandmother's who will turn 99 years old on friday April 5. She aquired this dish at an estate sale of a very old women and gentleman when my grandma was in her early twenties. She has cherished it all her life and has kept it in the same beautiful condition as when she purchased it long ago. This lovely dish is quite heavy and is very milky white. Swirly, not shiny, it has some green and gold around the scalloped edge, very little paint loss here. In the center are remnants of flowers worn off. The family gave me a*guesstimate* on their age of well over 80 yrs old based on family history. As I said. On the outside it feels smooth and the color is white but on the inside the pattern is raised a bit and a different darker color that almost looks leaded but it's not. the bottom of the dish is ribbed all around. It measures 6.25" x 5.75" x 1.75" deep Round with 2 raised bits on either end. In excellent condition for the age. No chips or cracks, just showing some minor bits of wear around the rim and in one place it'feels' a tiny bit'rough' if you run your finger around it but nothing noticeable. just a beautiful dish to enhance any table setting. I don't know a lot about this piece. It is fiery opalescent flint glass candy dish from an unknown collection. The name fiery opalescent comes from the opal like appearance of the glass emitting a blueish tint, when held to the light it emits a fiery reddish gold color. There are no chips or cracks in the piece. It has a diamond pattern on the bottom. No printed name visible. This one measure 4" across at the top and base. Antique EAPG Duncan and Miller Snail Bowl c1891 RARE!!!
This round bowl is the popular pattern"Snail" by Geo. Duncan& Sons Co.1874-1892) Snail" glassware was made around 1891. Long before the company partnered with John Ernest Miller in 1900 and became Duncan and Miller. The bowl is made from a 4 piece mold, as 4 lines are visible. There are 2 snails to each piece of the mold for a total of 8 snails. The snails are in good condition with a few tiny chips and there are minor chips and scratches around the inner and outer rim of the bowl. Please consider that 122 years ago it was used on a daily basis and has survived many years of use. Antique Duck On Marine Base Hen on Nest Frosted Central Glass Dish RARE 1880's
This is a antique Duck on Marine Base dish dated back to the late 1800's. It is made in colorless frosted glass and was manufactured by Central Glass in Wheeling. WV. It does not have any cracks but it does have some fleabite chips(please refer to the last 3 pictures) which are common in glass from this era. The fleabites are around the outer rim on the lid and the inner rim of the base. This duck measures 7 1/4" long by 5 1/2" wide. This is an extremely rare and hard to find piece that will be a great addition to your collection. This piece is featured in two of our glass reference books: Yesterday's Milk Glass Today by the Fersons(page 25. Item 79) where they call it'Duck on Cattail Base Covered Dish' and The Milk Glass Book by Chiarenza& Slater(page 52, image 99) which has this to say about the piece: With ... moreits well-formed head pointing straight ahead and its tail turned up. This duck floats along blissfully. The ends of the wings join together to form a dapper little peak just above the tail. Particular care appears to have been taken in matching the top of the base, as the fine ribs circling the edge of the cover correspond to identical ribbing around the top edge of the base. The base itself is unique in creating a nautical motif. Water lilies and rushes cover the sides, while the underside is virtually a pond teaming with life- a large fish, frog and crayfish all swimming in water moulded to simulated bubbles. This will be packaged with extra protection and will be shipped insured.

Up for auction is this very rare and 100% all original Antique Glass Serving Dish bowl from the 1700's to very early 1800's Stamped with Diamond and S in the center SEE PICTURES. This bowl is very rare with a dot swirl design. Note this glass piece was dug up from the ground over 80 years ago in New Bedford Mass. And it still has some paint around the edges. It does have some ageing at the bottom. Also with the diamond shape with a large letter S on the bottom 9" long 4 3/4" across 1" thick. For your consideration- an antique chicken candy dish- This candy dish was in my grandmother's estate. She owned an antique store. In the chicken is a note that says: Belonged to Cora Wilson's mother- over 150 years old. It measures 7 3/4" x 6 3/4" x 4" wide. It is frosted pressed glass. The basket weave on the bottom of the basket is really nicely done. As are the feathers on the chicken. The comb and bill of the chicken show paint wear. But are still visible.
