Antique EAPG Duncan and Miller Snail Bowl c1891 RARE!!!
This round bowl is the popular pattern"Snail" by Geo. Duncan& Sons Co.1874-1892) Snail" glassware was made around 1891. Long before the company partnered with John Ernest Miller in 1900 and became Duncan and Miller. The bowl is made from a 4 piece mold, as 4 lines are visible. There are 2 snails to each piece of the mold for a total of 8 snails. The snails are in good condition with a few tiny chips and there are minor chips and scratches around the inner and outer rim of the bowl. Please consider that 122 years ago it was used on a daily basis and has survived many years of use. Here is a very decorative antique Early American Pattern Glass relish boat that has been turned a light purple color from the sun. It has a very ornate band with some kind of stitched or quilted daisy flower or snowflake in an overall vertical rib pattern. It measures about 10 3/8" long and 3 1/2" wide and 2 5/8" tall at the front of the boat. There is a little chipping at the bottom of the base rim. Otherwise it looks to be in very nice condition. Someone really treasured this pressed glass bowl for more than a century because it looks in perfect condition. It was purchased in 2002 from an antique mall in Shelby. NC, and has been in my attic ever since. 8-1/4" diameter; 3-1/2" tall. Clear glass. Scalloped edge. Pointed loops filled with hobnails. Topped with fans, and bordered with beads. Bottom has a large rayed sunburst. No fleabites. Chips, cracks, scratches, or cloudiness. Not signed on the very bottom but we're positive it's part of the States Series by US Glass. Known as New Jersey. Another name is Loops and Drops. This pattern was made from 1900-1908. Value in 2003 was $35-50.
