Chinese Hand Painted Floral Designed Antique Porcelain Vase
Up for auction is a lovely hand painted floral design Antique Chinese Vase. It is an Asian floral pattern in lovely pastel colors on a background of fine white porcelain. It also has a floral design on the back side. The bottom is stamped"Made in China" and has a stamped mark and symbol of the artist/maker. It is trimmed with a green pattern around the top and bottom of the vase and it measures 8" in height. This was from a very old estate sale and is in excellent condition, there are only a few tiny chips on the underside of the bottom rim from whatever it was displayed on, as you can see from the picture of the bottom. For auction is a pair of vintage(circa 1940's to early 1950's) Crown Trifari. Clip earrings designed by Alfred Philippe. The earrings are made with molded, clear glass pieces of floral design that are prong set in a gold tone setting highlighted with small, round, clear rhinestones. These earrings are from an estate and I have not tried to clean them at all. There is a bit of green corrosion apparent and the rhinestones are all greenish or darkened. There is ONE MISSING RHINESTONE on each earring. The back of the clips are marked with the old style Crown Trifari mark. The bottom back of the earring is marked DES. PAT. 153026. There is also a stamped number on the top left of the back that is either a 9 or a 6. I don't know the significance, if any, of this marking. A REAL‘EYE CATCHING’ ITEM OF ANTIQUE JEWELLERY(See 5 Pence set in inset picture for comparisons) This is one of the prettiest examples we have had in years. a most intricate design of floral and geometric patterning. The raised leaves and flower heads in the floral bouquet are faced with green and rose gold ... moreand the flowers to top and base are faced in blue enamel. the geometric raised pattern is rose gold faced. The locket has a'moustache' shaped top with an articulating'saddle' bail. This has an aperture of 4mm. The reverse side of the locket is totally plain surfaced apart for the hallmarks for BIRMINGHAM 1881. The maker's mark and date letter is rubbed and indistinct. The date letter for 1881 is an italic low case'g' and there is a clear example of this on the left inside of the locket under picture covers. Unusual Vintage Floral Designed Hairstick
Up for auction is a very unusual Navajo hairstick. It is designed as a simple flower with vintage stamps decorating each petal and a greenish blue turquoise at its center. Length overall is 7 1/2" The"stick" portion is approximately 4 1/8" About 1/8" thick and constructed of flat twisted wire to affix the ornament in the hair. The flower portion is 1 7/8" in diameter and approximately 1 1/2" in length. Unsigned coin silver or better, it weighs 16 grams. This little Navajo flower is a very attractive hair ornament.
