It is a great table dating from the 1870s to 1880s. I am confident that it has had an overcoat applied at some point in its past, but it has a warm mellow touch to the medium walnut stain finish. The table consists of walnut and mahogany. It is all hand carved with the floral arrangements on the serpentine skirts and cabriole style legs. The four legs are joined together with cross stretchers in the center with a huge center finial that is an open cup. The overall size is 36 inches long, 26 inches deep and 30 inches high. The overall condition is good and tight. There are a couple of minute chips on the marble that we will detail out prior to shipping.

This parlor stand features the typical shapely legs, carved frame, but what makes this table special is the carved basket of fruit in the middle of the bottom shelf. Sometimes you see these with a dog carved in them, but this is unique with the fruit basket. This table was really dry when we brought it in, it has been sanded down, over-stained it, and then re-lacquered it to bring out the gorgeous luster of the walnut from the Victorian era of the 1880s. The marble is in really nice shape! It has an OG, beveled edge, and just a couple of tiny little nicks, that we are only mentioning because we like to be thorough.

PERFECT SIZE WALNUT MARBLE TURTLE TOP HALL TABLE ORIGINAL FINISH CIRCA 1880
This is walnut victorian marble turtle top table circa 1880. It has the original finish and original white marble. The table is the perfect size table to use in a hall or other small area where a lamp is needed. With the wall flush design it will fit nicely in a tight spot. The table weasures 34" wide at the back. 26" wide at the front, 16 3/4" deep at the center of the marble, and 28 1/4" tall to the top of the marble. The table sits on 4 brass rollers. Both the front and back legs are nicely carved as are the 4 stretchers and apron. At the center of the stretcher there is a finial on the top and bottom. On the apron front is a carved acorn. The original finish has some spots that have alligator but I like to keep the original finish when ever possible. Condidering the age and dainty design the table is in very good condition ... morestructure wise. We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful antique turtle top table. This is a Ca 1860 marble top parlor table. Made from white walnut. This is not your average turtle table. This piece measures 30.25" wide x 39.5" long x 28.25" high. Because of the size of this it is made stronger structurally to bear the weight of the marble. The table has undulating cabriole legs topped with acanthus leaf designs. The base has elegant stretchers that meet in the center and are topped with a turned finial. The marble top has a beveled edge. There are some stains on this but we can attempt to clean them out if desired. The wood on the table has been reconditioned and there were some areas that had losses to the wood that have been repaired. There is an area on one side that has an area repaired at an earlier time. This can be seen ... morein the photos. It does not appear to be a professional repair but we see it as adding character to the piece and this can be placed on the back side where it cannot be seen. There are age and use appropriate scratches and dings that only add to the character of this piece. This is a previously owned item and it is being sold as shown. This is a fabulous victorian center hall turtle top table that I am confidently attributing to furniture maker Prudent Mallard. The table has the large 7" x 16" beaded center finial and the classic carved 5" x 3 1/2" eggs on all sides of the 5 1/2" apron. The table is quite large. It measures 48 1/2" wide. 36" deep, and 28 3/4" tall. I bought this from an estate many years ago and is in as found condition with the wooden turtle top lifting off the base. The table has substantial curved cabriole tip legs that sit on original brass rollers. Email with any questions. This measures 40 ½ inches wide by 26 ½ inches deep by 29 ½ inches tall. The wood is in great shape with no damage. But the back top is a bit dry and a thin coat of varnish or even some linseed oil would rub this right out. There is one small chip in the back corner of the marble but I believe people can restore this if needed but it is not that noticeable being in back. Overall very solid and in great shape with no damage. I will offer some assistance with loading but buyer must either arrange shipping or pick up at my house. Large Victorian Walnut Turtle Shaped Marble Top Lamp Center Parlor Table c1880 Being offered for sale is this Lovely Victorian Walnut Large Marble Turtle Top Center parlor table with its original shaped marble top and fabulous large tiered finial circa 1880. This 19th century table has its original turtle shaped beveled edge marble top that is in fantastic antique condition with no cracks or chips. The turtle shaped marble top rests on a conforming apron of rich walnut.And the table is raised up on four cabriole styled legs with a carved X type stretcher with a substantial tiered turned finial at the center, with a drop turned finial below. We can find no breaks or repairs to this table.This early, large table would make a elegant statement in an entry hall or center of a room! BEAUTIFUL TURTLE MARBLE TOP TABLE. THIS TABLE WAS MADE AROUND 1860. TRUE VICTORIAN TABLE NOT A REPRODUCTION. MABLE TOP HAS BEEN REPAIRED THERE IS A CRACK THAT WAS PROFESSIONALLY REPAIRED AS SEEN ON BACK. WHEN FIXED THIS WAY IT IS SAID THAT IT WILL NEVER BREAK IN THIS PLACE AGAIN.
