Antique pre Civil War William and Mary Style Gateleg Cherry Table 1840's-1860's
This is a pre Civil War William and Mary style Cherry Gateleg Table with original finish on table top and original hardware. This table measures 5' x 3'8 1/8" extended on both sides. Folded it measures 27" from leaf to leaf. I had it appraised and inspected by a professional, they dated it from 1840-1860. The bottom of the table skirt and legs had been painted black possibly 75-100 years ago. T he appraiser stated it was very old paint and was probably painted black to match the style of that time. One of the spindle gatelegs has some damage on the inside of the leg as seen in photo. The top and leaf boards split were they would have originally been joined. They have been rejoined with biscuits with minimal intrusiveness to the table. The original hinges and screws were hand forged. The original hinges were reapplied to ... morethe table with new screws. I do have all the original screws. There is some bowing on the leaves due to age(as seen in Photo) It would require significant milling and steaming to correct which would decrease the value. The table top has it original finish and this table has NOT been refinished. There is wear(discoloration of red finish) to the center boards of the table due to 150 plus years of use. Antique Solid Cherry Pedastal Dining Table w/Built-in Pull-up Leaf
Refinished in 1982 by my father who was an antique dealer/restoration specialist. This is in very good condition. It has been used as a family dining room table since that time, and thus has a few very small nicks on the edges, and a few very tiny, shallow use indentations on the top two very small, short, very light scratches. Custom pads(included but very worn because of age) have been used so it has been very well protected and in excellent condition for its age! The pedestal has vacuum marks that can be removed, and the pedestal bottom has a few minor shallow nicks, again from daily use. Very well cared for over all and presents well for its age, late 1800's- early 1900's. It is Solid Cherry, thus a very heavy piece. The top has a built-in fold-up mechanical extension that is manually released with a pull-pin on one end and rotates ... moreup to be opened out,the two halves of the table top slide to open and close for the process. The finish is natural cherry wood that has aged. It is NOT stained mahogany like so many of today's pieces. This is a true natural cherry finish. The top is 58.5 inches long x 40.5 inches wide without the extension open. Height of table is 30 inches The pedestal base overall footprint is 35.5 x 31 inches. Diameter of turned legs on base: 12 inches at widest turn. Side drop of table top: 3.25 inches Antique Pedestal dining tables in good condition do not come on the market that often! Antique cherry swing (gate) leg table - country federal
Antique gate leg table. This was an antique when my parent's bought it in the 50's and I believe it is from the 1800's. It has simple. Clean lines and one I found with similar shape was called"Country Federal" but people on line tend to make up what ever suits them. It has not been refinished and does not have any varnish or other type of coating on it. The top appears lighter than the sides- probably faded from light. It measures 26 3/4" high x 42 1/2" long by 15" wide when closed. It has one drawer in the end.

A lovely. Antique tilt-top table purchased several years ago in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Very sturdy and stable tripod legs support a turned column supporting(29 inches total height) a 34 in. beveled, round table top. Notably few scratches and all minor. One leg appears to have been reattached and glued. See the photographs to judge its condition. Fine Rare Cherry Antique Victorian American Parlor Table Circa 1880-1890
I do not need to say a whole lot about this table. It is exceptional. Solid Cherry which is kind of rare to find. Most tables of this kind were made in Oak and Walnut. Only the richest people back then had these. It has wonderful turned legs and cross members and fantastic griffins holding the stretcher as well as Ball and Claw feet. Made circa 1880-1890. This has a old restoration but I would say still in fine to extra fine condition. Look around and you will see how very hard it is to find a true antique American table in Cherry such as this. This stands 29" tall and the top is 26x26 inches.I will ship this and help with arranging freight.

Antique Table Cherry? Walnut? Early 1800's Great Early Piece
Up for auction is a nice early table that I picked up at an Estate Auction in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. There was a furniture dealer at auction who told me table was from the early to mid 1800's and that it was unusual piece due to the bottom shelf. I am not a furniture dealer but I can see how well made it is and the detailed craftsmanship with the piece not having nails. The table was put together with wood pins or wood nails I guess you can call them. The drawers are all dovetailed and have original hardware. I have had several people tell me different types of wood so do not want to say for sure but I think it may be cherry wood. The table measures 48" long 29" tall and 24' deep. Partner and I went separate ways so I started my own account. I have shipped many items including large items such as this. I like to use Greyhound for large items but will use any shipping company. Greyhound will ship on bus and when it gets to your local station they will call you so you can pick it up. Very reliable and definitely the lowest cost shipping for larger items.
