PERIOD TIGER MAPLE PEMBROKE TABLE 1800's
This item is a wonderful period tiger maple pembroke table in the Sheraton style. I believe it was most likely made in the early to mid 1800's. The table is all tiger maple as far as I can tell and stands 26 1/2 inches tall. The top of the table measures 19 3/8ths. inch wide and 20 Inch deep with the leaves down. With the leaves extended it measures about 34" wide. The table top is cracked. Please see the photos for more details. The bottom of the drawer is hand chamfered. I believe the hinges may have been replaced. Please see the photos for details as I am not a furniture expert. I have not cleaned or altered the table in any way. It is exactly as I found it here in St. Petersburg Florida at a private home. I believe this should be easy to ship and will work with the buyer in whatever way possible. Shaped drop sides and the original wood pulls with early handcut dove-tailed ends on the birdseye maple front drawers with four baluster-ring and knob-turned legs with pointed knob feet. This early work table measures 28 1/2 inches in height. With the leaves down the top measures 17 inches wide by 19 inches deep, with the leaves up it measures 33 1/2 inches by 19 inches and this table weighs approximately 30 lbs. FINE CENTRAL NEW ENGLAND FEDERAL PERIOD SOLID TIGER MAPLE FARM TABLE With our compliments we are delighted to offer you this amazing little solid tiger maple"farm table" drop leaf table in a lovely honey golden original finish with the best woods selection and powerful graining. This is a fine Federal period Circa 1800 estate fresh piece that has been loved and cherished by its previous owners. A very substantial investment was made in the maintenance with a very high quality restoration performed on its top plank. Solid tiger maple spices were placed on both ends of the table to address splits that had developed over the many years. This is a fairly common events in these pieces when the bottoms of the stock we not finished. The underside finishing and its long term stabilization is something Colonial furniture makers couldn't ... morepossibly know when they made their pieces. This restoration is in the form of two tiny"keys" splices) that were plugged into the table's center plank with remarkable expertise and care. Our policy is to leave them alone due purity issues and the substantial cost of performing such a museum grade restoration but this was the possession of a family who deeply cared for it. Used it and gave it loving care. They simply caught a slight warping to the top coming and took preventive action. This work was done more then a decade ago. The center started to warp after centuries of seasoning and the keys were plugged in to the top to cure that. The finish was left untouched and these people certainly knew antique furniture and made the investment in a"museum grade" work(restorations intended to be seen and not cleverly concealed) We make no apology or excuses for it. It breaks our hearts to see horrible hack work done on pieces. This was a several hour task performed by a restorer with the highest skill set. This is a multi functional table where it can be used as an accent table, Pembroke or sofa table or a small drop leaf kitchen or dining table. It has pegged

It measures 30 1/2" tall by 20 1/4" deep by 35 1/2" wide with the leafs up and 19 3/4" wide with the leafs down. The top. Drawer fronts, center pedestal, and support brackets at the base of the pedestal are all made from a select cut of Tiger Maple- it has hand dovetailed drawers with hand chamferred bottoms and early square nails- the finish is either original or a very old refinish- the table has no breaks or repairs- the finish does show some use/age wear.

Hard to find. Cherry side table with original finish, and gorgeous patina, dating from the 1800s. The legs are beautifully fashioned. The table has a single drawer, with a substantial veneer panel of tiger maple. Inside the drawer is made of pine and was lined at some time in the past with contact paper. Also, the original handle was lost or replaced by a contemporary one. The table is 28 3/4" tall. With a top that measures 21 7/8" wide by 19 5/8" long; the body underneath is 20" wide by 18" long by 5" deep. This early stand is about 26 ½ in. high with a 20 in. by 16 in. top. Figured Maple was used throughout and it has mellowed to a warm honey brown patina. It has a recent finish in good condition. The period latch has an old repair and one photo shows where a small piece of the support block was replaced with a new slot cut to receive the latch. One leg has a tight repair and the table surface shows small marks and stains from age. At some point. Metal straps were added to the bottom with 19th Century vintage cut nails; then later one modern screw.
