Antique Wallpaper Printing Pattern Roller Wood & Metal Stencil Industrial Age
Offered for your consideration is a beautiful antique wooden wallpaper pattern stencil roller. This is a beautiful example of late 19 th& early 20 th century industrialism. Highly skilled craftsmen cut out and etched ink pads in brass filigree and hammered them into mahogany or rock maple rollers. Often there were four rollers used in tandem to complete a pattern. Each contributing a part of the design and to add a color. Many of these rollers were converted to beautiful lamps about midway through the last century; the hollow center of the roller makes it ideal for this purpose. I believe the roller was fitted to apply impressions of chrysanthemums. The work is very precise. Please examine pictures carefully. No splits or serious problems. Antique Victorian Bird Cage of Intricately Detailed House Made of Metal Wood What a really nice decorative piece. Look at how the wood was put together on both the roof and bottom of the base. This item was never meant to be a cage of birds. Would have always been a decorative item. A nice porcelain parrot comes with it as well. Just check out all the windows and door in this one. The small bars are metal. I would say the wood is something similar to rosewood. But you be the judge. There are certainly some issues to report on condition. The widow's walk or turret at the top of the house is loose from it. Some tiles in the roof are missing, one of the four yellow fobs that hangs from the corners of the roof is loose and in the cage, and another is missing. Some of the wood pieces and bars are loose and in cage. Not sure if all the pieces ... morethat are off the house are there or not. One of the sides(non-bay window) where the windows stick out, is a little loose from the rest of the cage and will need some attention. Also, someone decided to make it into a light at some time. However, that did not affect the integrity of the piece, the bulb, cable and chain could be easily removed. This piece was originally made to sit on a table based upon the four rounded small feet on it. I can see the vestiges of some blue. Brown, and green paints on the roof of the cage. The cage has a fence around the entire house that is attached to the bottom tray that is all there. There are then four metal fobs that are intact at the four corners of these walls. The bottom tray of the cage can be removed by opening the four brass latches that attach it to the rest of the house. The inside wood in the base of the cage shows some splitting from age. The antique bird cage is 24" tall, by 20.5" across by 17" wide. This piece will take extra time and care to pack for safe shipping. It's clear-out time here. I can't remember where this came from. Possibly one of my Mum's forays to Joel's Auction house. I don't know enough about it- is it bronze? It's incredibly heavy for its size. Very ornate in a Rococco style, with a cherub at the top. It's about 30 cm from the highest point to the longest parts of the bottom. It weighs about 1.2 kg. Several weeks ago I went to a estate sale in the country and bought what I thought was two old printing cylinders. I thought they were just neat looking. It turns out that they are antique wall paper print rollers that have become very popular as a decor item and are used to make very nice lamps. Vases or stand alone decor. They are very heavy metal cylinders with a embossed design used 1920s to print wallpaper. They are approximately 10" tall and 4 1/2" in diameter. One is marked Luminite 9045 3B. It maybe a ocean type landscape design. They seem to be a pair with a similar design. Anyway I bought them as a pair and I will sell them as a pair. Someone may want to make two lamps out of them. Antique 19th c INKWELL & attached ornate heart-shaped TRAY INKSTAND Gilded Metal
Here is a very special item from perhaps the early 1900's. Possibly a French import. This is a decorative beveled glass INKWELL that sits snugly on a heart-shaped tray of gilded metal or ormolu. The gilded metal repousse lid features a motif of swirls and flourishes and what seems to be a dragon. The lid is copper in color with the raised areas contrasting in gold, and has no noticible dings or dents and sits intact over the crystal inkwell opening. This inkwell has the unusual feature of having an attached tray designed presumably to catch drips and act as a pen rest. I am selling several fantastic french wrought iron pieces that came from a fine Louisville(Named after French King) estate. The kitchens in this estate home were the most intense I have seen in my lifetime. The main house kitchen was pure French in style. While the OUTDOOR kitchen was even more primitive, complete with a beehive oven! You can just imagine the meals prepared here, oui! The wrought iron pieces came from the outdoor kitchen area, and are phenomenal in all respects- CLASSIC FRANCE. I don't have any info on their origin or time period, but in the context of these kitchens, there is no doubt they are original period French pieces. See all the photos and you will understand the quality of this item. This wall mounted flower pot holder is a little different than the wrought iron pieces I have listed today. This piece is more ... moredainty. And probably not considered"wrought" iron, rather metal with some level of iron content. You can see that the decorative balls on the front face, where the paint has flaked off(from being hit with a pot most likely) is gold in color, and it may be brass? I do not know for sure. I could not find the original pot for this piece, although I searched everything in the vicinity. I would think a small terra cotta post would fit well and also be appropriate to the style. This large trinket box features an ornate embossed floral motif with greenery, and sits elevated on 4 ornate little feet. There are 5 thick beveled glass panels, and the inside is lined with low pile gold velvet with pins. The bottom is also velvet-covered. Closure via a bow-shaped handle which functions smoothly. Generoulsy proportioned, measures ~5&1/4in wide X ~7&1/4in long X 4&3/8in tall. In overall very good condition with expected age-related dustiness, wear, superficial scratches, spots, and mild soilage. The finished has patinaed gracefully over time to a warmer, rich brass tone. For sale is a unique Pietra Dura. Gilded metal candle holder with a secret compartment. The stone base is in very good condition with some minor pitting and small nicks as seen in the photographs. The inlaid stones are exqusitely crafted without cracks, nicks or chips. The gilded metal finish on the cherub-like figure and the drip disc below the candle holder have an aged patina and is noticeably worn as seen in the photographs but otherwise shows no damage. The candle holder is tightly attached to the base without wobble. The door of the secret compartment is secure and tightly closes. Rare and Gorgeous Antique French Brass Metal Crucifix with Sacred Heart. 1800s Description: Beautiful antique French crucifix in brass with the Sacred Heart at the base. The detail work in this crucifix is gorgeous! Notice the Sacred Heart symbol at the base. And the arrows on each point of the cross! I was told when I purchased it that it is from the 1800's. But I don't see any markings. Measures: measures 15" tall x 5.5" wide Condition: It has lovely patina with darkened tarnished metal and verdigris. Metal is soft and bends easily in places- most of this is in back of the crucifix and some of the metal is bent as a result.

The center one is missing the little knobs. To hang it, you would just put a couple nails in your wall and hang it from the openings at the top piece. This is a very hard piece to find, and what a statement it would make in your home. Everyone is always complimenting me on mine. Perfect anywhere in your home in your shabby chic, French country or romantic cottage decor. Measurements are about 40" tall by 24" wide. That is over 3 feet tall. It weighs about 16 pounds. Antique Artifical Metal Leg -Lower Right Foot Prosthetic w/ Copper Rivets
This very unusual artificial lower right leg(below knee cap) likely dates from the mid to late19th century. Copper rivets along it's base once secured a leather shoe like covering for the foot area while rivets up the back side(mostly missing now) once held a leather or canvas backing. It stands 14& 1/2 inches high and made of cast metal. It is constructed of cast aluminum- a much harder to get metal in the 19th century when this prosthetic was created. In some places the metal is 3/8 of an inch thick or more. A very unique item that would make a very eye catching prop or decorator item. If you get a chance. Please visit my other auctions. These Boston Terrier bookends are rare and well made. The Boston Terrier is beautifully detailed, fully figural and with excellent conformation. Each bookend stands 5" tall 5 1/2" long, 2" wide and weighs 2 lbs. 9 oz. They are in very good condition. On offer is a very rare style of mother of pearl handled comb which measures 14.3 cm. It is German. Over 100 years old and is the only known recorded mother of pearl handled comb of this style that survived. The metal tines are set right through the brass top in what was obviously work done by hand and is correct for this time period. Please see the photos included in the auction description. There is one hairline in one piece of pearl. It might have been like this when made and could not be replaced due to shortage of mother of pearl. A rare item for the collector.
