Up for auction are an amazingly beautiful Antique Chinese/ Cantonese Lacquered and Silk Lined Fan Box. Amazingly detailed with hand painted landscape and figures in gold. Measures almost 16 inches long and approximately 2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide. Inside measurement opening to hold the fan is 11 1/8 inches long with the end side of the fan opening is almost 1 1/4 inches. This used to belong to my grandmother who died back in 1966 and has sat in my parent's garage in storage. Not seeing the light of day for almost 47 years. Antique 19th Century Pietra Dura Gilded Metal Candle Holder Secret Compartment
For sale is a unique Pietra Dura. Gilded metal candle holder with a secret compartment. The stone base is in very good condition with some minor pitting and small nicks as seen in the photographs. The inlaid stones are exqusitely crafted without cracks, nicks or chips. The gilded metal finish on the cherub-like figure and the drip disc below the candle holder have an aged patina and is noticeably worn as seen in the photographs but otherwise shows no damage. The candle holder is tightly attached to the base without wobble. The door of the secret compartment is secure and tightly closes. The base is approximately 5 1/2” wide and the height is approximately 9 1/2” tall. Antique 19th Century English Horn Beakers (3) sizes, Hunt & Farm Scenes RARE!
I have recently acquired this trio of antique English horn beakers from the 19th century. I will describe each beaker as best I can. The first measures about 6.25" high and is about 4" in diameter at the top. The scene on this one appears to be a farm scene. With farmers and implements on it. The second one measures about 5" high x 3" in diameter and is a hunt scene. Thes first two need to be cleaned as they have darkened from age. The third one is 4.5" high and is 2.75" in diameter. It appears that someone tried to clean this one. This also has farm scenes on it. All of the tops are not totally round but again that may be from the age or in the making. The gilding on the ormolu has faded with time and they have a fabulous Fatigued French finish. The gilt is still in place underneath the candle holders and is a glorious shiny gold. I have to say that I prefer the faded elegance of the front surface! The engraving on the ormolu is fabulous. There is some verdigris but they would polish up more if you wished. Large and beautiful 19th century gilt bronze and marble naval themed inkstand with matching paperweight. The inkstand measures 16" wide by 9" deep and 10 1/2" high. The paperweight 10" by 4" The removable inkwells are hand blown and hand cut and measure 3 1/2" square by 3 1/4" high. This was a custom, one of a kind piece undoubtedly made for a naval officer. This is an old original chalkware lady bust statue sculpture from a wonderful old local wealthy estate. It is 16 3/4" tall by 10 1/2" by 6 1/2" It features a beautiful young woman with red floral poppies in her hair. It has its original paint. The lady has a shallow nick on her nose tip. See profile photo number 4 to how shallow it is. This is almost not worth noting. I see paint flakes on the back of her head. Front right base, and a few other places not worth noting. There is a faint hard to see slight paint loss from estate sale folks putting a gummy price tag on her chest not worth noting. See photo. I rarely see these chalk busts anymore. This large antique tray has a raw material value of $ 60 in copper alone having a weight of approx. 20 pounds. It is not a modern reproduction. Made between the 1890's and the 1920's. It measures 39 1/2 by 21 1/2. The tray has ancient Egypt scenes engraved and scalloped edge. Wonderful antique patina. Shipping is $ 45 within continental USA. No international shipping.
