They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. What a nice pair of Period Art Nouveau Brass Picture Frames and Prints! I found these at an estate sale and thought they were very nice. The size is perfect at 4 7/8" by 3 3/8" What is most interesting is the glass is domed tapering off into each corner. You very rarely encounter such glass in frames. A most unusual feature. I'm not sure of the age of the prints, they appear original, each one is held in by 4 fixed pin s. The back is made from a type of material that is similar to what you find in a 19th century tintype. Each one has a ring hanger. The lady in blue frame is missing the red accent in the lower right corner. The lady in red frame is missing the middle upper red accent. This is a wonderful pair of antique pictures. I can't find any signature on them. They are in timber frames with curved glass and the original backing. I have tried to show you the curved glass in Photograph 7. They measure 13.5cms wide and 10.5cms tall. They are in very good antique condition- although there is a fox mark on the top left of the one with the man sitting on the left. Set 3 Vintage Lady Portrait Prints Bubble Glass Cameo Ornate Frames Gold Regency
Offered. A set of three vintage lady portrait prints. They are in ornate frames with velvet and/satin like mats, under bubble glass. 2 frames are identical and the third is similar enough to be complimentary in a small group. I believe they are all made by Cameo Creations though only two have stickers. They measure approx. 7-7 1/2" tall by 6" across. Condition is very good VINTAGE/OLD with dust/dirt, some normal age related wear, a small nick on the top of the wood frame(oval) some marks on the glass. This listing is for your choice of one fine 19th century deep walnut picture frame- both of which hold vintage needlepoint(one petit point) And both of which are outstanding! As you'll see in the photos. They are similar in design and surprisingly similar in size. The walnut and Eastlake ebonized pattern of each frame remains in excellent original condition with just a couple spots of wear. I won't bore you by describing the detail that you can quickly see in the photo. But to make your choice easier, I'll deal with their specifics individually. 1) Smaller" frame with burgundy floral needlepoint. Measures just about 13 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches(widest outside measurement) and the oval opening is 9 x 7 inches. Although this frame appears significantly smaller in the photos. Given the shape of its sides(which flare outward) there's ... moreless than 1 inch difference between their sizes. Near perfect condition with some looseness in the joints that has occurred in its last 10 years hanging on my diningroom wall. Retains original glass& beveled-edge backing board. I've owned this frame for about 30 years. Having originally bought it to hold a 19th century family photo. However, the needlepoint was so pretty that I left it intact so have never removed its backing. 2) Larger" frame with needlepoint bird or distlefink. Measures just about 14 x 12 inches(outside measurement) and the oval opening is 7 3/4 inches by 9 1/2 inches. Excellent condition. Totally tight at the joints, but the original gold leaf oval has been gone over at some time- perhaps to brighten it. This top coating does rub off(I did it partially) with a soft cloth and window cleaner. I am guessing a bit at them bei ng French but i do know they are from Europe. Amazing burled veneer that i believe is walnut but could possibly be elm too. Out stan ding condit ion with no losses to the veneer and a beautiful golden patina. Each frame has three rosette de corations at the bottom. I have owned these frames for over 25 years. They are in excellent condition. Most of time they have been in storage as I didn't have room for them. All six have matching doll themed prints in them. But you could easily change out print it you wanted to use just as frames. Prints were done(stickers on back) by company called Image Arts out of Noblesville, IN(they are no longer in business) Wooden carved frames are very unique PLUS the beveled/concave glass adds an extra special touch. A set of 3 feather art birds with painted trees. Leaves& background The 3 carved wooden frames match. As does the painted background These are quite elaborate birds with long tail feathers. A crested head, a variety of feather types& colors. The background has green/yellow leaves with pink& white and blue& white flowers along a tree branch. The beaks& feet are also painted. They measure nearly 5 1/2 x 8 inches The backs have the original paper tape& are stamped Hecho En Mexico. Here& there are sections where the paper tape split at the inside edge of the frame. But it is intact, all the paper is still there- it is not dirty or ragged- I would still consider it in good shape. They each have a thick cloth( loop for hanging. PAIR OF ORIGINAL MARTIN W. CARR SATIN GOLD FINISH FRAMES-Auction is for PAIR of 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 Oval Ivory Colored Satin Finish Frames. Each frame is in its own original box with the price stamped on the box and on the face of frame glass. Stickers bear the original CARR stamp. Style code, and factory location in W. Somerville, Mass. These are not foreign made overseas knock offs. Frame styles are"all in one" and can be used as a shadow box, hanging pendant or free standing on the round"feet" at the bottom of each frame. The velvet backing with hangar was exclusive to CARR during the company's history. These frames were manufactured before the original business was closed in 1998.
