VERY RARE Antique Vintage Victorian Silver Thimble Etui cut glass scent bottle
Incredible silver Thimble forming a case(étui) discretely hiding a miniature cut glass bottle to hold scent or perfume. To perhaps refresh the'Lady' while sewing? There are no hallmarks that I can see but a Jeweller has assured me it is solid Silver. Similarly there is no size marked on the Thimble- Measurements: Diameter base thimble 1.6cms Diameter base etui 1.8cms Diameter crown of Thimble 1.2cms Height thimble 2.5cms Height étui 3.5cms The Thimble& Etui are in Excellent condition. Just the silver could do with some polishing, but I would rather leave that to the'experts' See the pretty engraved pattern around the center of the Thimble with also a'shield' engraved ready for initials! The Thimble screws onto the base holding the scent bottle. This screw works perfectly. The indentations on the base ... moreof the Etui I feel sure are there for a reason. But I have found no information about them. The Miniature cut glass bottle has 9 facets with more. Even smaller, shoulder' facets. The stopper is in perfect condition and if you look closely you will see a pattern built into the top from air bubbles. I presume. The lower part of the stopper has been ground so as to fit well. Offered is a good old vintage glass cloche or domed bell cover. For skeleton clock. Terrarium, dried flowers, doll, whatever you please. With rounded glass knob. Hollowed, about 2" across. Slightly flared rim. Can be used alone or with your wood base. The edge is fairly smooth. Though I would not call it polished, and there is some roughness on the inside rim. Nice vintage glass with no chips. Cracks or stains. There may be a bubble or two and there are. Some waves and some marks I think are called straws. Vintage 7 Point Star Magnifying Dome with Victorian Wire Stand
I suspect that this magnifying dome is close to 100 years old. It is in very good condition with just the tiniest of chips to two points of the star. One chip on the inside edge of the dome that cannot be seen, and no cracks. There was gold and white paint in the leaf design of each star point.The Victorian wire stand is not of great quality, but can be twisted to fit this magnifier was meant to be displayed. The magnifier is 6 inches across and 2 inches high. I don't know the power of the magnification, but it is pretty good when you move it around to get it just right. Only some tiny nibbles here and there, quite expected of a piece of this one's age. Both the jar and the stopper have scratched numbers- on the neck the number 84. On the stopper the number 49. Maybe the stopper was changed at one time, as this stopper fits very well though sits slightly proud of the jar. The stopper was made in an early 3-part mould- the mould lines can just be seen. There is a line of either frit or bubbles within the glass, nothing untoward just a reminder of the age of this piece. The jar stands 4.75" high. 6.25" high with the stopper. It has all the wonderful flaws in the glass that you look for when finding an old ball. The little bubbles and the hand blown lines. We have collected witch balls for many years and have one hanging in every window as it is known that they keep out the evil spirits. It is a wonderful color and a great piece of early glass. This is a lovely vintage(probably Victorian) cut glass small decanter with stopper. The decanter is nicely cut around the neck. Centre and sides. The rim is a very attractive petal design. There is a small chip in the shaped rim which is hard to spot and doesn't detract from it's displaying qualities. The stopper(not sure if it is the original) has a small slither of glass missing down the side. This is a lovely collectable piece. Antique Clear Leaded Glass Window Large Beveled Diamonds Vintage Victorian Panel
Up for auction is this amazing lead light window with large beveled diamonds that is simple yet extemely elegant. This beautiful antique lead glass window from an estate is in as found condition. The overall measurements are: approx 12 1/8 H" x 13 5/8"W. The beveled diamond shapes are large. And measure approx 3 1/2"L x 2" W. The angle of the bevel measures approx 1/2" and the frame itself measures about 1/4" thick and is made of metal. There is no damage to the glass, but there is a piece on the frame trim that has a small amount of damage(see pic) There is one arched piece that is working loose from the frame as would be expected with an antique piece. The glass is all original with no cracks or chips, and the unbeveled glass appears to be wavy which would date this to the 19th century. The diamonds are very ... morethick and with the masterful bevel work on these large diamond shapes, they project a spectrum of rainbow of colors when the sun shines through them, as seen in the pictures. 3 Fabulous Antique /Vintage Early Victorian Drinking Glasses - Lovely Engravings
3 really pretty Victorian drinking glasse. Two of the glasses are clearly a pair. These glasses have pretty ferns and flowers engraved onto them. The other glass has a lovely grape vine engraved around it. The three glasses are all hand-blown and very well made. They are all nicely shaped, very sweet and dainty. The pair have polished pontil marks while the other is rough. Due to being hand made there are some rather charming imperfections, the bases aren't completely circular and the pair aren't perfectly matched. These imperfections all add to the character and charm of these glasses though. There are some encased inclusions in the glass. There appear to be no chips or cracks in the glasses.
