Fabulous Adjustable Height Mid Century Modern Hat Stand/Clothes Rack/Parrot. What we have here is a very cool adjustable height stand of some kind. Comprised of chromed steel, wood and glass. I'm not entirely sure what its original intention was, but it would make a lovely place to toss a stray hat or coat upon arriving home from work, or perhaps a perch for a pampered parrot? The glass ball is marked with a sticker that says"Made in Czechoslovakia" = I have no idea if that applies to the entire piece or just the glass. The stand adjusts from a low of 37.5"T all the way up to 70" at full extension. The bar measures 12" wide and the base is 8" in diameter. The stand adjusts by means of a set screw with a hex head. Description Vintage gilt gothic Eastlake style aluminum hall stand and coat rack. This stunning combination piece merges the ornate gothic style of the Victorian era with the practicality of the aluminum frame. This would suit any Victorian home. This is a beautiful solid mahogany canterbury or magazine stand by Hekman dating to the 1940's. This magazine rack has a rich mahogany wood grain which is hard to tell or see in the outdoor pictures. The stand is a substantial size and features four rack compartments separated by turned spindles. There is one lower storage drawer which is quality dovetailed and maintains its original brass pulls. If you gravitate to all things lucite. Then you're going to love this piece! Honestly I have never come across another arched magazine rack with lucite dowels, ever! This has a very Dorothy Thorpe look to it, but I couldn't find a makers mark or signature on this piece. As I stated in my comments above this likely had a hanging pocket attached at one time, but that would be a guess. I have several lucite pieces, I sold several lucite pieces, and these is one that I would likely spend the money to have a pocket made for because it is so unusual. Ornate Antique Solid Brass Coat Hat Rack Hall Tree Stand
This looked too ornate and had too much potential to be scrapped as brass. This looks to be solid brass. They don't make them like this any more. Weighs roughly 12 lbs and is roughly 73.5 inches tall(6'1.5" Some of the screws have broken off and need to be extracted. One screw remains that can be used to match new screws. Please see pictures. A great project for someone. The scrap price for brass is roughly $2 a lbs so the opening bid is set to $24 which would be the scrap price for this brass coat stand. I hope this is bought and not sent for scrap.

This vintage brass stand stand has a center pole with swirl design that stands app 68” the hooks sweep up to 73” This is old so there is some patina. And it has been used so there are a few minor dents(so small I had to examine this to find them…they won’t show in a photograph) There is on small area(see picture) where the finish is oxidized, but it blends so well I had to look for it even though I knew it was there. Here is a hard to find Mid Century Modern. Atomic, coat rack or hall tree. This came out of a local architect's home with many Mid Century furnishings. There are 8 hangers on the top and 8 more in the center area. The light gold has minor wear but looks great as is(see photos) Can be spray painted if desired. There is a subtle pattern running through the center pole. It stands approximately 72 inches tall with a 66 inch tall center pole. The distance between the legs is 23 inches.
