Ornate Antique Victorian Carved Oak Wood Picture Frame
The outer dimensions of this antique frame are approx. 21 3/4" x 25 3/4" The inside dimensions. What size print will fit, are approx. 14 1/2" x 18 1/2" of course, you could also use a mat) The ornate borders are wood, most of the ones you find have a plaster or gesso that is molded to shape. I would assume that this was not an inexpensive frame in it's day. It is in super condition, with only very slight blemishes- VERY slight. Thanks for viewing this auction.

Vintage Oak Wood Picture Window Pane, Glass Frame, Distressed, Rustic, 11 1/2"
Oak window pane. 11 1/2" x 11 1/2" It's 2" wide. One side has a smooth aged wood surface. The opposite side is nicely distressed. Slightly rusted flat head screws in the distressed side. The glass is in good condition. Some smudge marks on the edges and in the corners. Can be cleaned up if you like.or leave it as it is. Great for an artistic project or picture frame. This is an antique oak wood picture frame. Hand made, that can stand alone or hang on the wall. There are four screws that hold the mounting securely on the back. Outside dimension of the frame is 5-7/8" x 6-7/8" Picture size with the glass cover is 4" x 6" Wood board under the glass is covered with fabric for holding the picture in place. Or the terms, so I will simply explain this frame in my own words.The color is Outstanding deep and glorious, aged from the slow passing of time that has only added to its distinct character. The color has taken a century to perfect, a glorious patina, in the full sunlight it is a rich burnt honey, And indoors with a bit indirect lighting it takes on a glowing sorrel/ honey brown, illuminating it to it's fullest potential, the old dings and knick's have darkened adding a character unto itself. It is beautifully trimmed in black all around outside and around inside as well. But it has not increased nor changed since I have had it which has been over 30 yrs. When I was displaying this I simply covered frame back so no light shows thru gaps. There is NO warping, frame will lay perfectly flat. There are scuffs, scratches, and the outer black trim has wear at corners, but as you can see in photos it does not take away from frames natural beauty or Superb display value.If wanted you can have these touched up, However I found they add to its history. These vintage solid oak wood frames measure a little over 6 x 7 inches with a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 gold gilt ribbet. They are 1 1/2 inches deep from top to back bottom and come with their original back hanging wire and hooks. They are open frames with no glass. This beautiful frame is in four layers of oak and gorgeous gold gesso measuring a bit over 5" wide all around. Great condition with one small spot about 3/4" of gold flecked off on bottom right hand corner can see in pic, could be touched up easily. Not distracting at all, This is in very good condition for most that Ive seen in this size. Glass is in perfect condition with no chips or cracks. Handsome small square antique oak wood and carved stand up mirror or picture frame. Measures 7 3/4" square- outside dimensions. And 4 7/8" square- inside dimensions, width of frame 1 1/2" and depth is 5/8" Wonderful small size. Wood is oak with very nice patina. Carving is actually an applied material of some sort. Perhaps a cast wax or something similar. It is hard and feels and looks like wood carving but I don't believe it is. Use your own judgement. I have seen this before on other antique frames. I believe this likely dates from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Condition: It is slightly off square. There is some slight movement when forced as you can tell by the narrow gaps at the mitered corners. Nothing major, however. For your consideration is an extremely rare and beautiful large burnt wood Flemish art or pyrography. Said to have come from an old Odd Fellows Lodge. Containing the entire Lord's Prayer burned by hand onto a 24" by 20" board and adorned with two glass"eyes" Framed in an original Victorian golden oak and gesso picture frame measuring a huge 34" tall by 30" wide. This unusual 19th century art form called"pyrography" was very popular in the late 19th century and small pieces from this period are very easy to find. This example, however, is an extraodinary expression of the art form and perhaps one of a kind. I acquired this many years ago from a dealer who claimed it came from a dismantled Odd Fellows lodge and was bundled with the usual I.O.O.F. regalia commonly seen. If so. This piece is unusual ... morein that it doesn't contain any typical Odd Fellows symbology, such as the three links or mason's square and compass. Perhaps the two glass eyes in brass mounts represent I.O.O.F. symbols? Of course this is only speculation. Late 19th century picture frame that measures 18" by 20" with an opening that measures 7 1/2" by 9 1/2" The frame is made of solid oak molding and gilded molded gesso. Although the scenic print is vintage it is not quite as old as the frame. The finish on the oak is original. It has some crazing and wear. I think I would just clean it and give it a coat of Briwax and it would look great. The gesso sections do show some hairlines which are commensurate with their age and very slight loss of surface. The gold finish is dark and almost looks like bronze. Because this wide and impressive frame takes a relatively small photo or print. It's a good way to add importance to something that might be overlooked in a narrow frame.
