Up for bid are 2 Matching Vintage Victorian Brass Picture Frames. They each measure 30 by 40 cms and weigh 1094 grams each. They are quite heavy. They have glass fronts and wood backs. I am not an expert with metals but I believe them to be brass. They look brass. Unsure if backs can be removed to change out the photo. It is a heavy wood back. For your consideration a vintage pair of American Arts& Crafts plein air style picture frames. Each rabbit opening is 12-1/8" x 16-1/8" x 3/8"deep. The overall frames sizes are 16-1/2" x 20-1/2" The molding is 2-5/8" wide. Both frames are almost identical to each other. One of the frames has a chip out of the inside lip. This is a matching set of really nice convex picture frames. These are larger than an average set and measure 24 1/2" high and 16 1/2" across. The condition is excellent with only very minor nicks that you would associate with something that is around 100 years old. The frames are very ornate and colorful with a floral motif that is in excellent condition with very vibrant colors. The glass on the frames is in perfect condtion. This is a beautiful set of 4 hard to find matching vintage 1950s Italian carved gold gilt frames. They're each marked made in Florence. Italy on their backs. Each measures 7.25" x 6.5" overall(18.4 cm x 16.5 cm) They can each fit an oval picture a little larger than 4" x 3.125" As this is the measurement of the face that shows.10.2 cm x 7.9 cm) Since these frames are made of two sections. You can actually take out the oval section if you want and have a rectangular frame left. The measurements for a picture that would fit this rectangular frame are 5.5" x 4.75" 14 cm x 12.1 cm) Each has a little hanging loop. This set is in very good condition. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GOLD HANGING FRAMES ~ MATCHING SET
Thank you for viewing this auction for one set of matching picture frames. There frames are in the old Victorian style. These frames are constructed primarily out of wood. And have carved/formed plaster designs. The frames are painted gold, and appear to have a newer coat of gold paint on them. Both frames have a hanger installed on their backs that hangs the frames vertically on the wall. I believe these frames are older, but repainted some time ago. The condition of both frames is used but good. The paint is in good condition on both. There is scratches and cracking on both frames, and discoloration in some areas. There is some cracking in the plaster motif, and part of the plaster boarder is missing on one of the frames. Please refer to pictures to gain the best perspective on each frames condition. There is no glass or backing for either ... moreframe. I believe these frames where used for canvass art originally so backing and glass where not needed for that application. This listing is for a set of Silk Pictures that I got at an estate yard sale. I see others who have some like them are calling them Art Nouveau. I do not really know what they are called. They have silk pictures in them. The frames appear to be wood painted gold. They are 8" x 10" and are in perfect condition except for the paper backing being torn. They are clean and smoke free.
