1930s Art Deco Pink Reverse Paint & Brass Filigree Frame Original Velvet Back
A beautiful and unusual Art Deco brass picture frame with very fine filigree work in each corner over a pretty pink reverse painted 1" border. One tiny 5/16" piece of brass is missing from the left bottom corner. Otherwise in very fine condition. The 1/2" sides are finely etched in a scroll pattern. Measures 9" x 11" The rose velvet back is also in excellent condition. A lovely addition to any room- also will make a charming gift. I've never found anything quite like it.

These two wonderful art deco picture frames are both in good condition with some scratching and wear which I have tried to show in the pictures. They are in very sturdy condition and weigh over a lb. each. Sorry for the glare on some of the pictures! The paper insert that came in the silver one reads Solid Brass. Hand polished& lacquer coated and it has a made in Korea sticker on its black velvet back. It opens by a brass latch into a photo album which holds about 56 photos which looks like it was never used. Its overall measurements are close to 7 x 9 x 1 1/4 inches and it weights 1.10 lbs. The one that is silver and gold on the front appears to be partly brass also and has a black velvet stand back with the"Hallmark" logo on it. It weighs 1.3 lbs. Again. THIS IS A REALLY UNIQUE FRAME. THE OUSIDE OF THE FRAME HAS A CARVED ROPE LOOK. IT IS A TAUPE COLOR WITH GOLD HIGHLITES. THE NEXT LAYER IS SMOOTH AND HAS AN ANTIQUE GOLD FINISH. THE INTERIOR MATTE IS MADE OF BRASS AND IS EMBOSSED WITH FANS. DIAMONDS AND SWIRLS. PART OF THE MATTE HAS BROKEN OFF AT THE BOTTOM IN ABOUT A 4.5" AREA. ALSO, THERE ARE PIECES OF THE CARVED ROPE LOOK THAT HAVE CHIPPED OUT ON THREE CORNERS. ANTIQUE ART DECO / NOUVEAU CAST IRON or BRASS TABLE TOP PICTURE FRAME EASEL LIKE
I'm not sure how to date this. It is quite unique and the back would make you think it's from the 1800's. But the design on the front looks Art Deco or Nouveau. Frame is heavy and I haven't attempted to clean it. I would think it's either cast iron or brass. Measures 9" tall x 6" wide. No glass and there is an old picture in it. Back stand is adjustable. No Reserve!

It is sometimes difficult to find a matching set of vintage frames. But. I discovered this unique set and rescued it from a local thrift shop. The opportunity is yours to take them home. DESIGN AND STYLE: Sleek. Art Deco style. The frames sit on two, small, ball feet. Each has a matching pattern of swirls and waves on the front edges. Great, shabby, cottage, chic decor items. DETAILS AND ACCENTS: The corners have fancy. Stylized, diamond shaped ornaments. The side edges have a speckled design. MATERIALS: A magnet does stick to the frames. Likely. They are a brass plated metal. The easel backs are covered in a maroon colored, velvet ... morelike material. DISPLAY: Tabletop display. Vertical orientation only.
