What size print will fit, are approx. 14 1/2" x 18 1/2" of course, you could also use a mat) The ornate borders are wood, most of the ones you find have a plaster or gesso that is molded to shape. First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. Antique Victorian Picture Frame - All wood ornate design Gold 10 1/2 x 12 1/2
This is a beautiful Victorian frame. Oval with ornate design all around. Has a 1 1/2" depth. Has a pretty wedding photo in it that looks to be c1910-20. Can be easily replaced. Frame is in good condition. However has a couple of defects, two minor cracks in the wood that have been touched up and don't effect the use of the frame at all, its only on the front layer doesn't go all the way through. I have taken pictures of them close up. Frame measures 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 and the picture is 6 x 8. Very nice piece from the past. TERMS: Payment is due within 3 days from end of Auction. The rabbet measures about 28" x 14" Each side of the frame measures about 2 3/4" wide. This frame has beautiful molded corners. For sale: A Antique Victorian 800 Silver Hallmarked Cherub Angel Double Picture Frame. The piece is small measuring just about 4 1/16 inches wide by 3 3/4 inches tall. It is made to hold 2 photos. The opening for the pictures is about 1 3/4 by 1 3/8 inches. The back of the one leg is marked with hallmarks and 800. There is natural tarnish to the silver and old tape scuffs to the old paper insert of the frame insides. The back has 3 tiny screws to hold the back on. There is a small plaque on the front that has the initials"H D" Between the letter there is also a tower/birdcage on stand. Not actually sure what it is. There is a black fabric bag stitched to the frame. When you push the buttons on either end of the decorative bar at the top of the purse. The purse pops open and is has a square shape. The only markings on the frame is the makers mark I mentioned above. The black fabric of the purse has a few spots where there are white paint drops. Also a small tear on the front side of this purse on the bottom left corner. Inside there is a lavendar silk lining that has 2 small pockets. The inside is in good condition. Up for bids at auction: Up for bids today is this round antique wooden gilded picture frame. This frame was an old estate find and is solid. And restorable/ usable. It has some cracking from age along with a place on the edge where the gesso has chipped away over the years and a few visible layers of old paint(see pics) and is just as found. It measures 18 inches long, 15 inches wide on the outside; inside the frame is roughly 11 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. On the back side, it is made to take a square piece of glass measuring a little over 12 by 9 inches. The lip for the picture/ glass measures roughly 3/8ths on an inch deep. This is a very interesting Antique photo frame with English sterling silver front design on a dark blue velvet backing. This piece is hallmarked with the passant lion for 925/1000 sterling silver. The anchor mark for Birmingham England, and the date letter mark of a lower case( i) for the year 1908. The condition is as follows. The silver has some dings and dents especially around the central ring, the top cartouch is pushed in, the velvet on the front has some white polish dust. This piece would have originally had a filler backing to strengthen the sterling and this is a bit broke up now inside.Measures about 6 x 5 3/4 inches, the circular is 3 inches in diameter and there is no glass. I am downsizing my frame collection. And listing a few frames I have not found the perfect use for! This is a gorgeous fancy floral frame in extremely nice condition. The overall size is 13 X 15. And it holds an 8 X 10 sized image. The liner and frame measures 2 3/4 inches across, and the frame is just under an inch deep. It has beautiful golden flowers/leaves/vines set over a darker stippled background around the outside edge, and a beautiful bright gold geometric patterned inner liner. It is really stunning. Please see all pictures for style and condition. The corners are nice and tight, and there is very little paint/gesso loss except at the very tips. I was going to put a wedding picture of my grandparents in the frame. LARGE ANTIQUE DEEP WALNUT FRAME WITH BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE ENGRAVING OF TWO WOMEN– name on lower center is“PRES DES CASCADES– NEAR THE FALLS. Walnut frame and engraving are both circa 1860– 1880’s. Probably original to the frame. Old wavy glass and old wood backing. Both probably original to the frame. Two women are seated near waterfalls– each is wearing a fancy Victorian dress. Bonnets, and one is holding a parasol. Maybe Niagara Falls? Antique print has some all-over age discoloration. More noticeable on the margins than on the print. The discoloration does not detract from the print because it is hardly noticeable. Framed in an early Victorian walnut frame with original Victorian gold tone liner- both in original condition– a few discolorations on the gold tone liner– especially on the lower edge– see my pictures. The outer corners of the ... moreframe are tight– no wiggle. No spaces. Frame has old glass and wood backing. The lower right edge of the print is marked: ANNEDOUCHE SCULP. The lower left edge is marked: BROCHARD PINX The lower center has the title of the print PRES DES CASCADES– NEAR THE FALLS. In small print below the engraving is IMPRIME PAR ALFRED JARDON JEUNE 3 RUE RACINE PARIS. At the very bottom is AM WASSERFALL. I have added photos of the writing but it is very light. Frame outside edges measured from the back are 26 ½ inches by 31 ¾ inches. Frame& contents weigh about 12- 13 pounds before any packing materials. Antique Eastlake Victorian Black Forest Picture Frame; walnut, old surface
Up for bids we offer this antique. Black Forest, picture frame at no reserve. From the Victorian period, it's made of walnut with a grooved surface and cut and carved corner medalions. The wood still has its original shellac; we cleaned it up but otherwise it's unrestored. The inner frame still has its original plaster and gold leaf paint with only minor aging flaws. The frame's overall measurements are 9 1/2" by 7 3/8" and the opening is 6 1/2" by 4 1/4" It's well-built and still tight and sound. It's right out of an old home where it had been hidden away in the attic for decades. It's in very good, overall condition and is missing only a small pointed piece of one of the corner medalions which doesn't hurt its appearance. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MINIATURE ENAMEL GRAPE MOTIF TWISTED WIRE BEADS PHOTO FRAME
This is a wonderful old Victorian 19th Century twisted wire miniature picture frame from wonderful old estate. The metal frame is 4 3/4" by 3 1/4" and has a glass reverse print inside that is oval and 2 7/8" by 2 3/8" The picture is a litho print attached to the back of the glass to make it more like a painting. It also has Mother of Pearl inlay in the photo. It is a European scene perhaps Germany of a hill side scene with a boat perhaps in foreground. The frame has enameled green grape leaves and there is some enamel loss. See photos. The frame also has glass beads meant to be grapes and many are missing. This is a very haunting picture of a plain victorian woman. I think its a hand tinted photograph of some kind but i'm really not sure. The pose is formal and her expression is truly somber. The brooch at her throat is very nice. The carved wooden frame is possibly Eastlake? It is very ornate it has a carved floral motif that has bits of color in the flowers and leaves. There are also areas of heavy gilt. There is some damage to the frame, it has some cracks in the wood but is all together. The backing is intact. 21&3/4"L x 12&1/2"W.

From the Victorian period, they are made of black walnut with carved surfaces that resemble crisscrossed tree branches. Antique French Fashion Engraving Print Eastlake Victorian Walnut Frame Berlin
Estate sale found antique circa 1880's French fashion engraving in a Eastlake Victorian walnut frame in very good condition. This print is marked at the bottom"PL. L Bureaux Encheplatz 4. Berlin" The engraving print looks hand colored and has no stains or blemishes. The solid walnut with gold frame is in good condition except for one small area of chipped off black japanning which is set over a white gesso base coat. This minor flaws are all shown up close in the photos. The frame has the original finish with a great patina and the glass is very nice. The back shows a one piece this piece of thin wood that I believe is original but has been put back with the original inside surface facing out as the oxidation color is not as dark as the rest of the bare wood. I say this because some layers of old magazine pages are seen under ... morethe wood panel that someone put in some years back to pad out the print to keep it flat and take up the space created by the wood shrinkage from age. FRAME IS IN“AS IS” CONDITION– FINISH IS ORIGINAL BUT THE STRUCTURE NEEDS SOME RESTORATION. The front of the frame has original finish in pretty good condition– the problem are the outside edges– no finish on them. Some nail holes and splintery broken edges where nails were– there may have been another wood layer on the outside of the frame. A little sanding on the sides would help! Dark original finish on the front of the frame. The incised gold design on the corners has faded– needs to be re-touched. Outer measurements of the frame are 20 ¼ inches by 24 ¼ inches. Antique Victorian Frame Punched Paper, Needlepoint & Beads With Pencil Sketch
Antique Victorian frame that is very unusual. It is made of layers of paper. Punched paper with wool needlepoint and beadwork. You can see the tiny threads that go through these tiny holes. The colors are bright and there are no tears to the punch paper. The frame measures 14 1/2" x 12" The opening is 4 1/4" x 3 3/4" There are a few tiny beads missing. There is some paper decoration missing from the outside frame. See pictures. There is a decorative gold embossed paper around the opening. There is a pencil sketch of a pretty young girl in a shawl. ORIGINAL 1912 SWIFT'S PREMIUM VICTORIAN CALENDAR LITHO of a BOY& GIRL PLAYING DOCTOR WITH THEIR COLLIE, In an ANTIQUE WOOD FRAME. This Adorable litho has retained its Sharp. Bold Coloring! It displays nicely. Although there are some very tiny age specks on the little girl, not noticeable unless you view the litho at close inspection. There is some minor crazing in the lower right corner and a tear along the far right border. Which has been taped on the back. None of the age flaws are easily seen at all unless you are looking for them while viewing the print closely. The Antique Wood Frame has a marbelized outer border and a gilded incised inner border. The frame show its age with roughness along the outer edges. Some finish wear and wear on the incised border as shown. I am offering for auction an absolutely beautiful ANTIQUE GESSO& WOODEN FRAMED VICTORIAN LITTLE GIRL PRINT HOLDING A SPRIG OF HOLLY This piece is lovely and in very good used condition. I am not an expert of art. But, I would date this print and frame to the late 19th or perhaps the early 20th century. The frame is lovely with deep well effect. There is one area on the bottom where some of the gold has chipped off, very small and hard to see as someone tried to cover it. This could easily be repaired and covered. The original back has been replaced. The print is lovely of a little bright eyed girl in what appears to be Victorian dress and hat. Overall measures 25 1/2" tall by 19 1/4" wide and 2 1/2" deep. It does not look original Both frame and die cut scrap are in very good condition for their age; there is very tiny loss of gesso on frame at top right corner. The 2 picture openings each measure about 3 1/2" by 5" The frame is complete with glass and is in very nice condition but does need cleaning. Up for auction a pair of antique Victorian oval picture frames. The frames measure approx. 8" by 6 3/4" the picture opening is 5 1/4" by 3 3/4" There made of wood with some gesso. Painted a dark blue color original I believe. There are some scratches on the painted surface and a split in the wood about 1/4" not at all noticeable. The rose pictures are old postcards. Maybe pot metal and then painted with silver paint. Has embossed flower and a fly around the edge. Very unique. Holds a 4"x6" picture or photo. Outer dimensions of the frame are alittle over 7.5"x10" Has folding easel back. Frame is in fairly good used shape. The silver paint has worn off in spots and there is some discoloration to the paint. Easel stand is alittle stiff but does still fold. No glass in frame. Please see pictures below.
