The only issue to report is that one of these ormolu corners is missing a drop. This piece has been painted over in gold. There are a few losses of the frame, but this paint hides many of these defects. Antique Victorian Era Pressed Paperboard Picture Photograph Frame This old beauty came with the lot of old tintypes that I purchased and just listed- none of them were inside of it. There is sat all by itself. And it's just so pretty! What I have is an antique, Victorian era pressed paper board photo frame. I don't know if this was part of an album, or maybe had a light easel(like a wire one) at one point in time, but what's left of it now is the best part- the frame itself, nothing else. It's made from a light, pressed paper board that is not pliable(unless you force it- then it would move) that is brown, with lovely high relief detailing on the front. On the back, you can see faded rose colored paper shreds and pieces- as if it had covered the back at one point in time and is mostly no longer there. You can see a little ... moresheen to the brown finish at the back- where it dripped back there from the front- it's shiny at the back, but no longer at the front. You can also see what looks like a nail hole at the very top- see photo 4. I'm guessing someone had this one on the wall. Other than that, it's really in excellent solid and sturdy condition, especially for being over 100 years old. There are some very teenie spots of wear to the brown finish, and it could use a little dusting/wipe off- I have not cleaned it in any way, it's as found. The outside of the frame measures 4 3/4" wide by 6 3/4" tall and the inside opening is 2 1/4" by 3 1/2" tall. It's light, weighing only a couple of ounces. Prettyprettypretty! Has some serious gesso missing along the edges and it does shows nail intrusions, staples, tape and or other items where people attempted to fix it over the years. I believe this to be a RARE frame. It was purchased in Prescott Arizona and was used there during the old west days. I was told it was a saloon frame- could be or not- no written proof on that just verbal- but it looks the part. Here is a very large. Quite heavy antique walnut picture frame, circa 1860s. It measures 29 x 33 ins. in total size, and the insert rabbet for your art or mirror is 22 3/16 x 26 3/16, a 22 x 26 item should fit fine in here. The molding is about 4 ins. wide and it is a deep well with painted black ebonized lines on the surround. The frame is in FAIR as is antique condition, with some minor scrapes, scratches, some inner gilt gesso chipped off the slip liner, some black ebonized lines wearing away, and some miter corner separations. It is fairly sturdy, but could be stabilized further by re-gluing. It has a bit of old whitish paint at one side back corenr, unseen from the front and coudl probably be cleaned off if it bothers you. Please be aware this frame is approx. 1t is about 150+ years old. Antique Victorian WALNUT Civil War Era Picture Frame 18 1/4 x 20 5/8 c1860s ART
Frame not as dark as above shot. More like close-up picture below. Here is a nice antique walnut picture frame. Looks to have been made of carved molding and had a inner gilt/gesso slip liner. The inner gilt/gesso is mainly all chipped off, but the frame itself is sturdy still. It measures 24 x 26 1/8 ins. and the inner rabbet size is 18 1/4 x 20 5/8 ins. The molding is 2 3/4 ins. wide. This frame has an unusual element, it has four corners with a round old wood putty( I think) covered hole. Unsure if it was made that way, or more likely someone many, many decades ago repaired it with nails or screws and then puttied over it. Really do not know for certain.The frame is solid and sturdy.I would date it to the 1860-80s time period. Perfect for Victorian. Antique Late 19th Century Victorian Era Oval Walnut Frame, 12.5" x 15"
This is a beautiful antique late 19th century oval walnut frame in good condition. The frame's outside dimensions are 12.5" x 15" on the outside and the inside dimensions allow for an 8" x 10" photograph or piece of art. The frame is in good to great condition for its' age. It has some crazing as detailed in the photos and a couple of very minor superficial cracks. But nothing that couldn't easily be touched up. The cracks are not nearly as noticeable as they appear in the product photography. This frame also includes the original glass and I am including the fashion print I used for the photography. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN AESTHETIC ERA MOLDED BRASS PICTURE FRAME OCT 29, 1901
This listing is for this beautiful antique late Victorian Aesthetic era molded metal picture frame. It is made with some kind of light weight metal. Possibly brass(I don't know for sure) It has a very detailed design pressed or molded with it. This frame measures 7 1/8" tall x 5 3/8" wide along the outside edge and approx. 5 1/5" x 3 3/4" along the inside edge where the photo is visible. It has a swivel stand attached to the back that has a patent date of October 29, 1901. I used it for years as a hanging frame by simply attaching a ribbon through the holes in the design at the sides. Please see the item condition description for more details. Up for auction is an Antique 1869 Walnut Shadow Box Picture Frame with Victorian Era Gentleman Drawing. The frame is 14" long. 12" wide and 2" deep. The frame is made from Walnut and has a simple but intricate design which was popular during the Victorian age. The drawing in the frame is of a Victorian Gentleman. I am not sure if this is a drawing, painting or etching, etc. On the inside backing is a piece of newspaper used for bunting, it is dated 1869. The frame has a shadow box style to it with a gold colored interior frame. The frame is in good condition especially considering it is roughly 150 years old. Two of the corner scroll pieces have some thin cracks but are still intact. The frame needs to be cleaned and polished as well as the interior frame.
