This is a very interesting Antique photo frame with English sterling silver front design on a dark blue velvet backing. This piece is hallmarked with the passant lion for 925/1000 sterling silver. The anchor mark for Birmingham England, and the date letter mark of a lower case( i) for the year 1908. The condition is as follows. The silver has some dings and dents especially around the central ring, the top cartouch is pushed in, the velvet on the front has some white polish dust. This piece would have originally had a filler backing to strengthen the sterling and this is a bit broke up now inside.Measures about 6 x 5 3/4 inches, the circular is 3 inches in diameter and there is no glass. ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER HEART - PICTURE FRAME -NAVY VELVET
This is a sterling silver decorative heart shaped picture frame. This frame has been in the family for over 40 years. The back and stand are covered with original dark blue velvet. The silver frame has no marks. However, it was sold as and tests for sterling. A paper label on the inside of the stand says Henry Dobb Ltd. The overall dimension of the frame is 6 and 1/4 up and down and by 5 inches across. The inside dimension is 4 and 5/8 up and down and by 3 and 3/4 across. It is a lovely size for any part of the home or office. The top of the heart has a little bump on the left side as you face the frame. After all the years it seems part of it's character. This bump shows far more in the photo than it does when holding the frame in your hand. A very nice antique silver antique heart frame.
