AN ORIGINAL MARITIME PIECE of FOLK ART made WITH CARE and ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Featuring a THREE MASTED SCHOONER or CLIPPER SHIP with VISIBLE and MARKED STANDARDS. Designed with care in a classic 18th/ 19th century presentation. The piece is a good large size measuring approximately 28" across x 18-1/2" high x 3-3/4" deep. Completely hand made. NOT a production model of some sort. It's a heay piece in that the casing and frame are all solid wood. The back panel is one(1) panel of wood measuring 13-1/2" wide. The waves are built up with gesso and there is a good amount of rigging. There's a ship on the horizon as is typical of paintings of the late 18th and 19th century. The frame and glass are in great condition. Since the back is one piece of wood(not joined) There's a minor split in the background wood as seen in the photos. You can see it there on the left side about half way up. It can be left alone or stabilized. Also, the piece is generally dirty and there's a little seperation seen where the back joins. This also can be seen on the photos. This is a very old piece. Definitely 19th century. All in all. There's good true age and the expected issues from age. For the collector or for someone decorating their study or man cave it doesn't get any better. There are flags on all three masts plus an American flag barely visible near the stern. There's a fully starred flag on the foremast. The main mast is marked H.M. WHEELER(sp? or something similar. I did a quick search but can't find anything.

For your consideration is this Antique Victorian Shadow Box Frame With Allegorical Print This antique Victorian shadow box frame measures approximately 13 3/4" in length. 8" in height, and 1 1/2" in thickness. It contains an allegorical print approximately 10" in length and 4" in height. The print depicts an allegorical scene with an inscription in Greek across the bottom. A wire hanger is attached to the back of the frame. Seven small nails hold the back in place. A piece of antique glass with small bubbles does protect the print or whatever picture/print the buyer desires to use the frame for. Leaving a gap that isn't terribly noticeable but nonetheless there. Rubbing, soiling and staining to moudling resulting in loss of finish in a few rubbed spots. This is a fantastic antique victorian shadow box frame with a large tin type image of someone's sweet little baby from long ago. Walnut 3" deep frame measures 12" x 14" and has a 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" frame opening. Large tin type image is mounted under glass and matted with an oval mat that has a 5 3/4" x 7 3/4" opening. Tin type is in very nice condition. Walnut frame is good and solid. Has several chips to the gilt trim along the edge of one side along with normal age related wear to the finish of the frame. I have for you two antique picture frames. The oval one is a little rough but the solid walnut shadow box is in the best condition ever! It is 8~3/4" x 10~3/4" and about 2~1/4" deep. Has hanger on the back. The wood is very nice. Not nicked or scratched up. The oval frame has some gesso missing but it can not be seen when hung. It is ornate and has grape design. Very pretty! Eastlake- Hitchcock Style Description: This is a pair of antique Victorian shadow box picture frames that are an Eastlake-Hitchcock style. They measure approximately 14 1/8" tall. 12 1/8" wide, and 2 1/8" deep each. The glass panes measure approximately 9 3/4" long and 7 1/2" wide. The style"Eastlake" comes from Charles Locke Eastlake(1837-1901) who designed simple, yet beautiful frames in contrast with overly, ornate frames of the day. This frame is designed with different stepped layers that are alternately painted a lovely chocolate brown and gold. These wood carved, gold gilt frames are absolutely magnificent and would add warmth and beauty to any room. Condition: These antique frames are knicked and scratched in various ... moreareas. Especially around the edges. Some of the gold paint has chipped away. They have been wiped down, but you may want to clean them yourself. The frame is in very good condtion for its age. Around 1810-1830. The Flowers and molding on the frame are all intact. There is a nice 1/2" wide white trim that border's the inner part of the frame. The painting is a portrait of a woman in a black dress and a white collar. I don't know who it is in the painting or who painted the p. I didn't take the painting out of the frame to check. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Ornate picture frame or shadow box insert. This piece was salvaged from an old, very large shadow box/display. The frame was in bad condtion but this piece is fantastic and in very good condition. It would make an excellent, stand alone wall picture or mirror frame, or can be used inside a frame as a shadow box. This piece is very large and measures 36" wide and 18" tall. It is hard wood construction. The face is covered in black velvet. There are 3 arched openings in the face for pictures, mirrors, display, etc. All of the openings are arched, with the center opening larger than the sides. The arched openings are lined with very ornate, pierced brass. The face of the piece is also accented with small brass rosette"jewels" There are 6 small rosettes that accent the corners and separate ... morethe arches. There is a larger brass rosette swag under the center, larger arched opening. This is a very nice, unique piece. It has the appearance of an old, Greek or Roman, columned wall. The back of the frame is wood with some black paint(pictures 9, 10&11) The frame is quite sturdy and in very good condition. There is one small area of loss to the velvet at the very top left. A nice antique shadow box frame. This has two parts. The decorative inner frame inserts into the outer frame. The glass is cut to the rabbet opening of the outer frame so the inner frame is completely under glass. both pieces have a fumed black oak finish. The overall dimensions are 20 by 16 inches. The inner frame will fit a standard 12 by 16 inch work with a rabbet opening of 12 1/4 by 16 1/4 inches. The rabbet is cut to 1/4 inches. I am selling this Antique Lighted Shadow Box Picture from the 1950's. The item is in very good used condition. Minimum wear for an item this old. It hung in my parent's home for years. The Tan colored frame with gold trim measures 12" x 16" x 3" deep and has two independent lights one at the bottom and one at the top. They can be lit separately or together The flower picture is 7-3/4" x 10" and is painted on a piece of glass which allows the lights to reflect through. This is an excellent retro item from the 50's. Antique Picture Frame- Shadow Box Style. Marbleized Plaster On Wood. This is a very lovely wood frame that features plaster painted to look like a marbleized effect. The most inner portion of the frame features a gold painted design. Which further accentuates the frame as"it" will any picture displayed in it! Overall. The frame is in very good condition with exception to 2 tiny areas. In the one corner a piece of the marbleized plaster is missing. Truly its very tiny area, that measures approx. a 1/4 inch long, its not very noticeable. The other corner directly across from it has the same issue with a very tiny missing piece of plaster( see photos- I highlighted the areas of the corners in the photos, with a green rectangle) The other 2 corners are good without any noticeable issues. See photos. Also along the one outer edge of ... morethe frame there's an area where the wood feels a little rough. It appears to have some minor chips missing in that area however they have been painted and are not very noticeable. These areas are not detracting from the overall appearance of this frame. But never seen one like this, with the wooden leaf adornments in the corners. The leaves are similar to those found on frames generally called Adirondack or primitive style. It's possible that this was a one-off experiment in a frame shop. The addition to the leaves appears to have been original to the frame. As square nails are used to hold them in place.
