Its a ruby painted pickle or storage jar with heavy cut glass sides and lid, it feels like it should date from around 1840 to 50 might be earlier, heavy contact wear to base some loss of the ruby decoration due to years of wear, a 4mm chip to one of the faceted edges at the base and the lid has chips to the inner rim which contact the inner neck of the jar(as in picture two) the lid itself is a rare survivor even with the damage, when purchasing this type of glass you have to be aware of use and wear its a practical piece which has been used for 170 odd years, Negative elements out the way, this is a lovely little jar the hand painted pattern on the jar reflects beautifully on the inside other glass facets when magnified by the glass. Pair of Georgian/Victorian Large Glass Lustres with Crystals This stunning pair of glass lustres are beautifully cut with an ornate flower shaped rim and base. With 12 large heavy deep drop leaded cut glass crystals on each lustre. Which catch the light beautifully hence the rainbow colours. Unfortunately many of these are quite chipped(please see photo 8. This shows the worst of the damage, please be aware that many have chips of some sort or another, although no breakages, there are also 2 replacement drops, these are only noticeable because of the colour) However, this does not detract the beauty of the item and only apparent on inspection. Pair Georgian/ Victorian Heavy Blown Glass Whisky Tumblers Half Pint C.1830-60 This is a good pair of very heavy blown glass tumblers dating. In my opinion, from between about 1830 and 1860. They are made of a good quality glass- may have some lead content- and have polished pontil marks on the bases. They are quite large. Easily taking half a pint( 500ml) Both are in good condition. But with fairly heavy wear, particularly to the base and rim, as you would expect. There are no chips, cracks or bruises, there are some scratches- they have obviously been well used over the last 150 years or so. Lovely plain shape. very tactile. Altogether excellent glasses to drink whisky or beer from. Size: 4 1/8 inches high( 10.6 cm) approx x 3 5/8 inches wide( 9.2 cm) across the rims. Weight: 977 grammes before packing. Lovely old decanter i think this might be Georgian but i'm not 100% sure. It's a lovely piece but has water staining to the inner glass, no chips or damage and the stopper i think is original with a nice tight fit and of the same design. This piece of glass i will keep if does not fetch my asking price and i'll have it professionally cleaned i love it so much, Both the stopper and bottle have polished pontils and it's a 11 1/2 inches in total height with the stopper. It has it's original stopper. This type of bottle would have been from a boxed set of medical materials for home use. I would date to between about 1830 and 1860: early to mid nineteenth century. rhusrluk rhusrluk Antiques in good taste– harmic.little A very large and intricately cut late-Georgian or early Victorian knife-rest of dumbell form with intricately cut surface decoration; English. Circa 1840. This superb knife-rest is unusually large, measuring 5 3/8 inches in length and was clearly designed to support a large carving knife. These rests are hard to find nowadays so we are particularly pleased to offer this example which would be a great addition to any fine dining table. This beautiful knife rest is of dumbell form. The oval'melon' ends being especially well carved and cut with a variety of different glass-cutting techniques.
