Pair of Framed Antique Hand Painted Portrait on Porcelain Miniature Paintings
Offered for sale is a pair of framed hand painted portrait on porcelain. Each piece has a woman portrait painting on 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" porcelain dish mounted on high quality gold gilded and velvet wooden shadow box frame. The frame is 7" x 7" x 2"Thickness. The paintings are unsigned on front. I am not sure whether they have signatures on the back. I can't take them down. From the paintings I believe they were painted by a master painter. Age and origin unknown. I would guess they are either from Germany or France. The porcelain dishes have minor chips or scuffing on the edges showing the age of these pieces. These minor flaws do not detract the beauty of these piece. Both paintings are in great shapes. overall the pair is in very good to excellent condition. The frames preserve so well. No loss on gold gilded frame ... moreand not dust on the velvet. It would be a nice addition to your collection.

Antique Miniature Framed Portrait Painting on Porcelain:Young Napoleon Bonaparte
Up for auction is this antique/old miniature painting on what looks to be a young Napoleon an oval shaped porcelain piece. Framed in a black wood frame. Nice black and white swirl paper backing. The frame measures 4 1/8" tall x 3 5/8" wide x 1" deep. I don't see that is is signed. There could be information on the back of the porcelain itself but I don't want to take the framing apart to find out. The portrait is oval and about 2 1/2" tall by 2" wide. I see some paint loss on the painting. Mostly at the edges of the oval portrait but there is a tiny bit of loss on his hair area. The frame shows some wear, and there are pinholes in the paper backing. A quite pleasing antique miniature painting. Happy bidding.I am helping to liquidate the estate of my close friend's mother. Antique George Villiers Framed Miniature Portrait Painting Signed France Germany

Here we have a gorgeous antique miniature on ivory sliver. Portrait, signed(unable to decipher name) and framed. The subject is George Villiers who was the first Duke of Buckingham and was reported to have been the lover of King James I. He was assassinated in 1628 by a disgruntled army officer. The frame looks like a gessoed piece and measures about 7 x 7.75" with the painted area about 3.5" x 2.75" and the glass frame has a bit of a concave look. The frame has a couple chips and some light crackling. The quality of the miniature painting is amazing and I tried to get closeups so you can see how wonderful a job the artist did. I have about 20 of these ... morein my collection and most are German. Some French. Items I sell are not new. They are vintage or antique and have been used. So expect wear and tear.
