Vintage / Antique Hand Blown Blue Glass Jug Milk / Cream Polished Pontil C.1900
Vintage/ Antique Hand Blown Blue Glass Jug Milk/ Cream Polished Pontil C.1900 This is a beautiful handblown glass jug dating. In my opinion, from the late nineteenth century. It is of blue glass with a polished pontil mark and an applied handle- The blue is not that almost black dark cobalt, but a blue a bit lighter and greener in colour. Size: about 10.5 cm( just over 4 inches) high. Weight: 162 grammes Condition: no damage. heavy wear to the base. see the photographs. Payment must be made within 7 days of winning bid unless other arrangements have been made. If there is a problem with payment. Please contact me. I am quite reasonable and willing to help sort out any problems, but If I receive no contact after 7 days have passed, a non-payment case will be opened and I will offer the item to the next highest bidder. Payments from overseas ... moremust be made with paypal unless other arrangements are agreed with me prior to bidding. U.K payments can be made via paypal. Personal cheque or postal order. Cash on collection is also possible by arrangement. Postage Costs: I keep my postage costs to a reasonable level- but they do have to reflect the costs of lightweight packaging materials and the time spent packing the item properly so that it will arrive with you in one piece. I usually add about one pound on top of what Royal Mail or Courier charge as the shipping cost to cover the materials used- I recycle what I can but still spend a lot on bubblewrap. Tape, boxes etc. It is not my aim to make a profit out of shipping costs, but I do spend many hours packing items and my time is valuable too. NOTE THAT EBAY NOW CHARGE AN ADDITIONAL FEE TO SELLERS OF 10% OF ALL POSTAGE COSTS- AND IF YOU PAY BY PAYPAL THEN PAYPAL CHARGE THE SELLER ANOTHER 5% These charges are Included in the amount I ask for shipping. An Antique Victorian Amber Glass Serving Bottle with Polished Pontil
8426 Victorian Amber Serving Bottle Description An early Victorian amber glass serving bottle. Bottles such as these were used for serving various drinks both at the table and in pubs and taverns. It would date around 1840-50 so could have just been back into the William IV period. This example would have been stoppered by a simple cork. And you can see the groove around the rim which would have had string tied around it which would been attached to the cork at the other end. The base of the bottle has had the pontil ground and polished away. A nice rich colour. Especially when lit from behind, this bottle would add to anyone's display. Condition Generally good with just minor wear. Flow lines in the glass from production. Typical of this type of utility ware. Plenty of authentic wear to the base. Dimensions(approx) Height 29.5 cms(11.5 ... moreinches) Width 10 cms(4 inches) Weight 440 grams(before packing) Stock Code: 8426 DC13-4. New items are added frequently to Antiques England. Please remember to check back regularly!
