Pair of hand carved statue figurines. Completely authentic and original from the 19th century. Both pieces are women. One piece is signed under the base and the other has a reference number of 2742 with antique tag. check images) No previous restoration or cleaning due to the material. This is a rare and antique pair of Venetian cuff links with two antique Murrina depicting the Venetian lion which is the symbol of Venice.The Murrina is an ancient Roman glass technique. After fusing a bundle of glass canes together. The newly formed cane is draw out and sliced after cooling. Each of these slices is called murrina. The Murrina are very fine crafted and of excellent quality. They are set in Venturina gold stone. The mounting is made of metal. I don't know too much about these 2 pieces but I was estimated at $700-$1000 for each plate by Sotheby's in April 30, 1999, attached is the estimate from Sotheby's. Factory made holes at back and had been wired for wall hanging. I bought this set from an antique dealer in 1985.

FATIGUED FRENCH FINDS fatiguedfrenchfinds This is a beautiful pair of antique French onyx and gilt ormolu 5 branch gilt candlesticks. Each candlestick stands 43.8cms or 17¼” tall. The gilding on the ormolu has faded with time and they have a fabulous Fatigued French finish. The gilt is still in place underneath the candle holders and is a glorious shiny gold. I have to say that I prefer the faded elegance of the front surface! The engraving on the ormolu is fabulous. There is some verdigris but they would polish up more if you wished. I have only wiped the surface. They are very heavy and the combined weight of the pair is 4.320kgs. So unfortunately the shipping will be expensive. In excellent vintage condition. They stand on 4 little ormolu legs. One of the candlesticks rocks slightly on its leg but this does not affect the way that ... moreit stands. It still stands well.
